Its an issue of black people. Government separate residential limits or districts for white and negro residents. the government doesn't want the white people in the same environment as the black people. Race was by far the most prominent factor in the location of commercial hazardous waste landfill. The government feels that race is more important than landfills and toxic waste. But still decide to place them in black environments. The community chosen for the landfill...84% black...despite low income. They are putting landfill into black neighborhoods because there's not much values in black environments. Environmental racism, the newest frontiers of civil rights and politics. Racism is the main topic when it comes to civil rights and politics because black people barely have a say so in whether or not they want landfills and wastes in their neighborhoods. They don't have a right to speak up on the neighborhood that they live in. The neighborhood itself is already unvaluable. The government does not care about making the neighborhood look any worse than it already

Environmental racism is the social injustice represented by the disproportionately large number of health and environmental risks cast upon peoples of color in the communities in which they live. On a national scale, nothing illustrates Canada's startling environmental inequities more clearly than the lack of access to clean drinking water in First Nations Communities. First Nations homes are 90 times more likely to be without safe drinking water than other Canadian homes. This lack of access to clean water not only highlights a dangerous health risk to First Nations communities, it is also a denial of First Nations’ access to cultural and social practices involving water; in effect, this neglect by the government of British Columbia is a…

Three examples of racial hegemony include the geographic, political, and cultural injustices subjected to minorities and low income individuals and communities. For example, the siting of toxic waste facilities in low income communities demonstrates geographic hegemony of racial injustice. These communities are frequently targets of environmental racism because they are often times smaller, less accessible and poorer than those in more affluent or white neighborhoods. Because of this, large corporations and [white] politicians find it easy to place facilities in these neighborhoods with little to no resistance. This also demonstrates that political hegemony also influence environmental racism. Most of the top councilmen and politician in government are white and/or Anglo. Because of this, most of the policies and regulations imposed on communities cater to their objective. This is demonstrated in the Granado struggle for grazing. They fought the New Mexico Department of Game and Fish (NMDGF) who cater to a singular public - the rich and wealthy who are interested in large game/elk hunting and prohibiting grazing. It illustrates cultural hegemony because it ignores the social and cultural differences between Anglos and Hispanos and dismisses the existence of inequality and hinders the development of the Granado’s economic and cultural development.…
