“Somewhere, something incredible is waiting to be known.” By Carl Sagan. I want to be that known person, I want to be heard and I want to be successful and I will. All my life I have dedicated my time to succeed in school and make everybody proud. The most important person by having them proud of my achievements is my mom and I. All through elementary school, junior high, and just one more year of high school I have received many awards and always the best grades I could get. Making me and my mom happy and proud is truly one of the best achievements I have accomplished. My mom has always been there for me and always supports my decisions no matter what; she’s a single mom raising three kids on her own, putting food on the table and a roof over our head. I believe God blessed me with a great mom, I’m only seventeen years old with no job but I thank her for everything she does by helping around the house and taking care of the kids while I’m still maintaining excellent grades. She goes to school and goes to work and by me helping her with the house and the kids bring her a great deal of joy, but what really makes her day are my school achievements. I bring home good report cards, getting a gold card for having a 3.5 or higher GPA and being involved in the school, like sports, clubs, and leadership. Her knowing that I’m doing my best in school and being proud of me motivates me to keep doing what I’m doing.
My academic achievements make me proud because it gives me a belief that I will succeed in life and go very far. One day I want to earn my PhD and be an Obstetrician so I can help bring newborns into the world because every baby is a little miracle. It’s such a bliss to watch the parents faces glow as they hold their new baby and be so happy. I want to experience that, by helping others experience the miracle of life. The only thing that is getting into my way of my dreams is the expenses of college and medical school. My mom is the only supporting parent that I have and she is going to barely graduate six months before me to become a respiratory therapist and hopefully will have a job open for her and make better money than a teacher where she attends school. It takes time making good money though, and the UC’s or University’s I want to go to are thousands of dollars and then medical school is thousands of dollars. My mom doesn’t have that kind of money and I really want and need an education to go big and beyond anybody’s expectations. That’s a lot of money for one child, my sister will be graduating two years after me and that’s more money for her to go to college and go to law school or vet school after her four years of an undergraduate school. My eight year old brother has already decided to go into the military, so that’s paid for and if he was to change his mind, which I hope he does, because he is the smartest little boy I know and is in the 2nd grade and already reading at the 6th grade level, almost to the 7th grade level. He has a very supportive dad who will always take care of him no matter what. So where I am going with this is I think I deserve this scholarship because I am going to need all the help I can get for college. I don’t want my mom to pay for all of the expenses because I want her to have enough money for my sister and possibly my brother who will go to college and need to be paid for also. By me being the first going to college, I don’t want to take my entire mom’s money and not have enough money to have for my brother and sister because I want them to succeed as far as they can. I am the first child and family member ever who will actually go to college and earn my PhD. This scholarship will help me and my family out with everything. We will truly be grateful and be very much appreciated.

As a child, your aspirations are wild. Many of us wish to accomplish more in our lives than our family members, especially some of our parents. At some point we all wish to be recognized as something bigger - something that no one has witnessed before. We have a need for appreciation. Ever since I was young, I’ve wanted to accomplish great things. I’ve hit setbacks in school and at home, but I’ve never let them break me. Even when I was little, whenever I received a good grade on an assignment or test, I would rush home to call my mom and dad to tell them. Seeing that look in their eyes that says “I’m so proud to call you mine.” Thats what…

Australia’s involvement in the First World War began in the 1914, its actions representative of its support of Britain’s declaration of war. This unity is implied by the amount of men who felt duty bound to serve Britain’s interest, corresponding to 40% of men enlisted who are aged between 18 and 44. Of these amounts, 330000 men went abroad, whilst 60000 passed away and another 150000 returning with injuries (Dyster & Meredith 2012, p.96). Hence, the absence of these men during the period of Wold War One itself signifies major impacts to the Australian economy, coming in the form of a decrease in labour supply, thus triggering changes in the economy to attempt to replace these shortage. This dilemma is further compounded with the difficulties Australia experienced in its trade agreements during the war and its attempt to resolve it through import substitution, which however, triggers both positive and negative changes, hence altering the structure of the economy. Furthermore, the return of the soldiers from war, and Australia’s attempts to reabsorb them to the community also causes difficulties for Australia, which are compounded by the lack of finances involved to act upon this plan, hence straining Australia’s debt.…

Hester Prynne, from The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne, was alienated from her society for committing adultery with Reverend Dimmesdale. The bible says the man who commits adultery will suffer, and he will be in despair. Job 15:20, 21, 22, 23, 24 and 25 says “All his days the wicked man suffers torment, ... Terrifying sounds fill his ear; ...He despairs of escaping the darkness;...Distress and anguish fill him with terror; they overwhelm him, ...because he shakes his fist at God...” Reverend Dimmesdale struggled with God throughout the whole novel, and God causes him suffering and pain.…

The use of implied powers changed the division of power that existed before they existed because it essentially granted the division of powers more power. Implied powers are those that are not specifically stated in the constitution, but it is assumed that if ever needed, Congress or the Supreme Court has the power to add in a rule or law when necessary. Since the Founding Father’s could not anticipate every possible problem that would arise in the following decades and centuries, they had no way of creating a rule for every possible outcome. So they incorporated the enumerated powers, or the implied powers, in the event a situation did occur that was not explicity stated and covered in the Constitution. The addition of implied powers in turn made the central, or federal government more powerful because it gives them the ability to address certain, and or unusual circumstances. Implied powers also give the federal government more power than state government because the federal government is able to rule on each different scenario at their own descretion, as long as it is justifiable. The court case that allowed the use of implied powers was McCulloch versus Maryland in 1819. Basically, the case was wheather or not the government had the right to create a second natioanl bank, and that the state of Maryland could not tax the bank. It is no where blatently stated in the Constitution that have the the government just had to create a second national bank, but with the use of implied powers under the necessary and proper clause, it was deemed as justifiable.…

I can still hear the echo of my mother’s voice when I told her I was leaving my job to go back to school full time. I want her to understand that by not going to college she will most likely become unemployed sometime in her life and then she will have to rely on family, friends, or the government to help her get by. I also feel it will be like a monkey see monkey do scenario. As a parent, I will have a profound influence on her educational achievements. By having a bachelor's degree, I feel she will most likely become more educated, because she will look up to me.
