Mostly commas but also a few other English terms I had never heard of before such as passive voice. It seemed as though every student in the class was struggling with commas. We had never focused much on commas, and the rules of commas were not something that was heavily stressed by teachers. With the help of my English teacher, the Internet, and fellow students, my commas errors lessened in each paper. I was starting to learn what to look for when it came to the sneaky little commas. Though I never truly perfected the comma, I began to understand commas, and grammar in general, on a higher level. I began to understand not only where commas belong, but also the significance of a comma and how much it can affect a paper. "Commas can make you fail" became a class saying.
After learning some grammar rules and the ways of the comma I began to focus on another lesson: proofreading. I knew to read over my papers before turning them in, but I would never seriously look them over or check for errors. Learning new rules about commas and grammar and having made so many grammar mistakes made me began to want to proofread and check my papers thoroughly. In doing this I realized that when I took the time to proofread I caught a lot of errors. I began to enjoy proofreading. I found satisfaction in finding and correcting my errors, and I realized how important proofreading
