English Language Observation
1. Anthony
Anthony was by far the best presenter I witnessed in class. The reason I felt that he was the most memorable person to me was due to his confidence. When he gets up, he immediately has the class paying attention because of his loud and clear voice. He looks like he is used to speaking in front of an audience.
2. Peiqi
Peiqi Feng was another person that was memorable to me because of her improvement in class. Peiqi was struggling at the beginning of the semester because she is not fluent in English. Peiqi's vocabulary was limited and then I saw improvement. Presentation after presentation, I noticed that she was a little more confident and becoming a better speaker.
3. Sam
Sam would also be considered a memorable person to me because

Part I: Character Identification in "A Rose for Emily" In complete sentence format, identify each of the following characters. Remember reporters, be sure to include as much information as possible to give your readers a vivid picture of each of the following characters: 1. Emily Grierson – When she died, the entire town went to her funeral for two reasons. 1: The men went through a short of respectful affection for the fallen monument and 2: the women out of curiosity to see the inside part of Emily’s house. Emily’s boyfriend that soon to be husband left her and she became depressed and stopped taking care of herself and her home. She also stopped paying taxes because she didn’t go out much but stayed mostly inside her house. Her father mostly ran her life and he never approved any guy to be worthy to marry his daughter so Emily didn’t get married. 2. Colonel Sartoris- Colonel Sartoris is the Mayor of the former town. When he was alive, he established the myth that the town had to take care of Emily so she didn’t have to pay taxes like everyone else had to. 3. Tobe-I think he is a caretaker. He does everything Emily tells him to do. I think that Tobe is an African American just like Emily. 4. Judge Stevens- He is an 80 year old man. He was the mayor of the town when Emily was alive, when a woman complained to him about the smell that was coming from Emily’s house he didn't know how to tell Emily, so he suggested that the men pour lime around the premises to get rid of the smell. 5. Homer Barron- He is described as a Yankee. Homer is described as a big dark man and his eyes are lighter than his face. His voice is big. He also makes people laugh and it said that Homer likes other men so I think he might be gay. Everyone thought he was married to Emily but he wasn’t he didn’t want to get married.…

I use to think that being a teacher was going to be a short eight hours of teaching and being with children. Having summers off made being a teacher seem a lot more beneficial to. Being a teacher seemed to be the easiest career choice out there for me. After viewing the second grade classroom in Shepherdstown Elementary it is safe to say that I have changed my opinion of teaching. There is unquestionably another side to the world of a teacher that can only be seen inside a classroom. Watching the students made me realize that being a teacher will no doubt carry some difficulties but, it will all pay off in the end. Observing has made me realize that there is more to teaching, the classroom, and what goes on inside.…

This is both very hard for them because they are officially married and Juliet doesn’t want him to go, so she tries convincing Romeo that it is in fact the Night time bird singing and not the morning lark, finally Romeo agrees with her and at this point Juliet realises the danger of Romeo staying in Verona for even a while longer so she rushes to persuade him to go as soon as possible. “It is It is! Hie hence be gone, away!”…

The speaker that I would like to come be a motivational speaker and speak to us as a class would be Anthony Brinkley. He was in the military and still is he was a special security for the president. He is from Weldon Nc but lives in Connecticut, also he is one of my close realities on my mom side. Mr. Brinkley would be the best one to choose as a speaker because he doesn’t brag about himself while talking. He can compare the things that we been through and compare it to our lives and struggles that we face as teen in this day of age…

    1. My last English class was very challenging. We worked mostly on analyzing and evaluating arguments. This included working with multiple articles and really understanding what the author was trying to argue. As a class, we really worked a lot with mapping and charting the texts. These seemed to take the longest to do because you are really digging deep into the text and trying to understand exactly what the author is trying to say. The most important thing that I learned is that “good writing is rewriting”. That was one of Micah’s quotes that he would say to us the entire semester, but it is true. You cannot expect to slide by with just one draft of your writing. We would spend weeks on just one assignment, making lots of revisions and constantly fixing things. This really helped me as the semester progressed.…

    Best teacher

My best teacher that I have had thus far in my academic teacher would have to be Elias Semaan. Professor Semaan taught the upper level Finance courses here at JMU and his intelligence as well as his passion captured my attention and made me want to absorb the knowledge that he was preaching. I had Professor Semaan my sophomore and junior year and he was great. He taught a difficult course, FIN 360 Analytical Methods in Finance but he made difficult concepts and equations seem easy by going through the logic behind them and why and how we use them. He added in humor to lighten the heavy load of the courses content and keep the class happy. He was also very creative and used his own little real world examples while explaining bigger critical concepts. Professor Semaan did an excellent job of keeping the class active and participating. He was open to the student’s opinion and always asked at the beginning of class if anyone was having trouble with anything in the course or had any questions, if they did we would discuss it as a class until everyone was caught up.…
