*Henry David Thoreau: He’s the most important transcendentalist. One has to self-identify first. -Style VS. Philosophy
• Belief in the “Oversoul” (shared metaphysical human connectedness)
• Some has to have spiritualism. (Focal point of human essence, Tuning in, tuning into the oversoul moment)
• Independent, eclectic = you have a better understand of others than others.

Men Say They Know Many Things
Men say they know many things;
But lo! they have taken wings, —
The arts and sciences,
And a thousand appliances;
The wind that blows
Is all that any body knows.

• Saying and Knowing = different
• Appliances = technology
• “Any” “Body” = human experience, separation: different kinds of knowledge

I Was Made Erect and Lone
I was made erect and lone,
And within me is the bone;
Still my vision will be clear,
Still my life will not be drear,
To the center all is near.
Where I sit there is my throne.
If age choose to sit apart,
If age choose, give me the start,
Take the sap and leave the heart.

• born alone and dying alone

    I believe that the major objective of English 111 is to practice different substantial skills that will help you increase your writing abilities. These skills will prepare students when they’re expressing thoughts, feelings, viewpoints, and information orally or on paper. In my opinion, the most important central concept communicated in the syllabus is the Course Schedule. I will constantly be marking off the assignments that I have already completed so that I know which ones I have left to complete. It’s extremely important to be well organized and to always keep up with when the work is due. If you get too far behind, it’ll end up being too much work to catch up on. Being proficient is key to success in this class. The only question that…

    If I were a hollywood producer, and I remade “The Seven Ages of Man” I would cast the main character that we saw in the videos to a celebrity named David Tennant. David Tennant can be a serious person whenever that may be needed and he can also put a little bit of comedy into the work. In the first video we see the guy talking to a group of people but is also connecting to the audience. David Tennant connects very well with the audience when doing parts like these and like the guy in the first video Tennant can add some small bits of comedy. In the second video we see the main actor talking to himeself and thinking very hard to himself about what is happening and seems a little depressed. This reminds me of a part that David Tennant did when he played as Hamlet in the BBC version of Hamlet where he had this serious part where he was talking to himself while seeming a little depressed. I would also film the scene with David Tennant walking through the street thinking to himeself or in front of a group like at a workplace or something like that.…

    America was developing its own writing style. The authors of the time all thought in the same wavelength. Some of them, such as Thoreau and Ralph Waldo Emerson belonged to a transcendentalism club in which they shared their ideas. Thoreau had ideas that he firmly believed in and tried to act upon his ideas. He wanted to live in solitude and be one with nature, so he went to Walden Pond and was semi-secluded from society. Except for a couple of times when he went to the nearby town for things he needed he was on his own. He did well with it, but wanted to move on with his life so he left Walden. After his experience, he decided to write about it in his book, Walden Pond. Thoreau tried to live…
