Engineering and Qatar Exxon Mobil
Personal Statement

To start with, it has been my dream to become a successful engineer when I complete my studies in the field of engineering. Since I was a small child, I had a special passion for this particular area of interest. This is because I see this career as a good reason for the evolution of life and satisfaction of my long cherished ambition. From this point, I started to focus my efforts on fulfilling this aspiration. To me, engineering is a great field of human endeavor that requires challenge, initiative and hard work. It is worthwhile to indicate that my uncle has been a great source of support and inspiration to me on many occasions. He spared no pains to encourage me to excel in Mathematics and Physics in particular. He never hesitates to take me along with him to his office and provide me with good doses of practical, hands-on experience. He has also been keen to show me around in the different branches of the Telecommunications giant in Qatar i.e. QTEL. I also had the opportunity to share ideas, thoughts and theories in communications. He helped me a great deal to learn new things related to engineering and advised me to keep focused on the area I like most. As a communications engineer, he introduced me to all disciplines relating to this particular field. I was so impressed by the architects, both civil and electrical engineering. He made me really love this area.
My interest in science dates back to my high school where I excelled in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. However, the subjects that I like most are Physics and Math. Therefore, I was very much interested in participating in the competitions of Mathematics and Physics educational contest “Olympiads” under the supervision of the school teachers and management. During the competitions, I was able to acquire a good array of skills such as analysis, critical thinking and problem –solving. Teamwork, co-operation and initiative were key values that I have earned throughout the

Compliance and conformity are two prominent aspects of the current education system that limit student’s ability to formulate opinions and delve deeply into subject matter. The study of science is constantly evolving and scientific exploration is a key factor in gaining a holistic understanding. An education beyond the accustomed realms would challenge me to learn through exploration, opposed to being taught in a traditional setting. My character can accurately be depicted with one word: perseverance. We as humans face challenges daily, and it is accepting the challenge that allows us to succeed. The drive I possess challenges me to look beyond the curriculum, and gain knowledge in aspects of the subject that are sheerly of interest, not solely…

Ever since I was in elementary school, I have loved biological science, for it involves experiments. I was always excited for science fairs. Excited enough, I planned my science fair projects a year early every year. When I transitioned into high school, I was put in a “Regular Biology” class and immediately contacted my counselor to put me in an “Honors Biology” class. I wanted to be in a fast paced course that would teach me a lot about the subject I am in love with. I did doubt the possibility of having science fairs in high school and this upset me. As my freshman year went on, my honors biology teacher proposed a science fair to my class. This was an exciting opportunity for me as I love science fairs. I used all of my energy from excitement into my project and was winningly chosen to represent my school among my school’s township’s big science fair as my project was sublime. That was the moment I was absolutely…

I have been interested in science and math since I was reading books with science experiments in second grade. Applying math and science skills to solve everyday problems has intrigued me from an early age. I am always curious about how things work. Since taking AP Physics this year, I have been able to appreciate how math and science work together. I have taken other rigorous courses, but often it felt like learning math was isolated from other coursework. Math challenges me to problem solve and think at a higher level. I also love science, but until I took AP Physics my science classes were too easy. The labs in freshmen and sophomore science were enjoyable, but I never got a sense of how they connected to other concepts in Biology and Chemistry.…

Alongside these experiences, I have a love for science in school, represented by my determination in applying myself. Independence and creative thinking are crucial skills acquired in sciences. Both Biology and Chemistry contribute to an analytic facet of learning. Functions and Calculus help progress logical problem solving, which is vital in any health related profession. Furthermore, I also take pleasure in learning a wide array of biomedicinal information. I am always zealous towards expanding my scientific intelligence. Both of us didn’t have any experience in engineering but my brother had a longer experience with other subject and as time passed I was his shadow always even when I tried twice as hard. One day I learned, a conversation with my teacher “I should never settle for what is okay I should always try for better” my teacher said. I took these words to heart. During the remainder of the school year I will be excited to write about what I will be doing for my senior project. In the events of my senior project I will be doing college and career technical educational study for the first semester. The topic of my senior project will be on environmental engineers. I chose the topic of engineering because I like to solve problems, and problems are an engineer’s inspiration, and I also like to design. You would be surprised of the ideas of what engineers bring to our world today like the games we play on our smart phones, the trains we ride, the bridges we drive on, even the tooth paste we use. Everything we use in our lives everyday are because of engineer’s. Engineering is about making something possible and creating ideas for our future. Also, in the journey of the remainder of my senior year, I will be taking note of and visiting colleges that offer the knowledge and experiences of becoming an engineer. During college visits I will be checking out quad and hangout spots, dorms, dining halls, classrooms, gyms, on-campus athletic facilities, and bookstores. As I make my way around campuses I will socialize with others and ask questions about anything I need to know. I will be filling out college applications, writing college essays, getting recommendations from the people I know, and I will be making a power point on my topic of engineering. My college applications will be filled out by December 1st, My college researches will be done by November 9th, My college essays will be done by December 14th, I will have all of my recommendations by December 1st, all of my college visits will be done by December 15th, My speech from my selected book will be read by November 18th, My 500 word essay on a Game Plan for Life will be done by October 5th, My power point presentation will be done by January 3rd, and my presentation of the culminating PP college project will also be done by January 3rd. Furthermore, I participated in a mathematics Olympiad several times. However, I won one silver medal of Mathematical Olympiad of Ulaanbaatar city. These Olympiads and preparation for Olympiads was an effective tool for university entrance examination. Studies besides mathematics and social science studies expanded my view of the world. For instance, I realized that physics, chemistry and biology are related to all natural phenomenons. Now I can give a simple explanation of science for “why a rainbow exists”, “what is electricity” whatever. It’s enough for me. Most people don’t know about people collect experience of life in high school years. During my high school years, I learned to love people, participate in social life and make decisions. Of course that love is not the love of a couple, it is the love of your family, your classmates and furthermore all people of the world. In other words, I learned to help people and respect them. It’s just one part of social life. Also to learn how to make decisions by your own is very important because after graduation from high school,…
