The LG refrigerator uses $33.97 of electricity each year, while the Daewoo refrigerator uses $37.84.

1) According to my calculations, it would take 361.75 years to start profiting of the more expensive device compared to the cheaper device.
2) The refrigerator will not last 361 years, the most it could probably go is 20 years if it gets lucky. This is because it will be outdated in some time meaning no one will be able to repair it as well as the technology will slowly start to breakdown making sure that it is unfixable.
3) People will buy the more expensive refrigerator over the cheaper one for reasons like, it is made out of stainless steel, this will give your kitchen a modernized taste and a professional look. Another factor is how the more expensive fridge has a 1.7 Cu.ft. advantage giving it loads of extra space.
4)a. It is a good law due to the tons of energy each household will save because of its effiency compared to the old devices. This will give us a great long term effect because numerous electricity will be spared all because of Green laws. Another good thing about this law is how producers will have to create energy efficient devices. This will create a surge of demand for the consumers which will make the producer develop its technology. This cycle could lead us into a new world of energy efficient technology.
b. This is a debatable topic and there is also another perspective to this. Every company has a right to what they want to create as long as someone will not get physically harmed. Who is the government to tell those companies what to create. This

The facility needs to purchase three machines. The machines needed are: an x-ray machine, high-speed CT scanner, and an ultrasound system. There are a few different options when purchasing medical equipment and in this case they are buying new, refurbished, or obtaining an operation or capital lease. The best strategy for obtaining a high-speed CT scanner would be to purchase a refurbished machine. The useful life of this equipment is 10 years. Although the hospital may need to upgrade the technology for the scanner in five years, buying a refurbished scanner is the best option. The hospital can upgrade the equipment again at a later time extending the useful life of this device. This will be recording as an asset but at a lesser value. The loan is also low at a 9% rate. The best option for obtaining an x-ray machine would be to choose a capital lease. The payment values are a higher percentage than if the facility were to choose an operating lease or purchase a refurbished machine. This x-ray machine is expected a useful life of 15 years. Even though the present value is lower, the facility will receive more use out of this equipment. The best option for obtaining an ultrasound machine would be an operating lease. This technology is expensive and will only have a useful life for about five years. The upgrade payment is lower as well as the monthly installment rate. Once the machine is obsolete, the hospital can upgrade the device with this plan. The facility will be paying more but in the grand scheme it will be cheaper with the upgrading options. When choosing the best options for purchasing equipment, it results in lower costs and more profits when thinking future tense. This is true even if the costs were higher at this time. Having the latest technology brings in more profit, saves money in the long run, and provides the best care to…

    1) How much importance should be given to the energy cost situation? Michael Burton’s proposal to expand into new energy efficient products is justified by increasing interest in the public and private sectors to reduce energy costs. At the highest level of government, the Obama administration has tied the US economy’s energy policy with its future success and competitiveness with other global powers. In a speech on June 2009, President Obama specifically mentions the Energy Department’s plans to implement “…aggressive efficiency standards for common household appliances – like refrigerators and ovens – which will spark innovation, save consumers money, and reduce energy demand.”1 Sarah Max from Money magazine (2010) also mentions that there are over 100 state programs that offer additional incentives for home energy efficiency. She points out that there 6 times as many programs offered by utility companies as well.2 In all, home consumers are being highly incentivized through rebates and tax credits to make home energy improvements— including the purchase of energy efficient appliances. Presumably Tesca Work’s new product will meet the Energy Star standards established by the EPA and DOE. According to the Energy Star achievements report for 2010, American households purchased around 200 million Energy Star qualified products that year (3.5 billion since 2000).3 The energy cost situation is one that the Tesca Works cannot ignore in their product development and marketing strategies. 2) Forecast the project’s cash flows for the next twenty years. What assumptions did you use? This project’s cash flows are projected over twenty years based on three assumptions or scenarios for the product’s demand: Weak, Average, and Strong. Each scenario’s variables are outlined in the Table 1 below:…

If you are shopping for new appliances, make sure to look for the Environmental Protection Agency’s Energy Star label before making a purchase. Energy Star appliances use between 10 and 50 percent less energy and water than their conventional counterparts. They may cost more than appliances without the Energy Star designation, but in most cases they will more than make up that additional cost through energy savings.…
