Energy Produced by the Sun

The earth obtain its major form of energy namely heat and light from the sun which makes various processes in the earth to work. Almost all forms of life except few residing on earth depends upon the light obtained from the sun for their energy to carry out various life activities. For example plant utilizes sunlight to make food for them and to fulfil requirements of other animals. When plants and animals are eaten by us or other animals the food energy is passed from one to another and hence the energy from the sun gets incorporated in the food chain of the ecosystem. The energy from the heat produced by the sun help in creating movement in the atmosphere and the ocean which causes winds, water cycle and ocean current. The temperature of the Earth is also maintained by the heat and light obtained from the sun. The condition of the climate also depends upon the energy from the sun and its effect upon rocks, water and soil. The sun is very huge and much bigger than the Earth. It is more than million kilometres away from the Earth. The size of the sun can be estimated from the fact that million Earths can be fitted on the surface of the sun however there are some stars which have been identified as much bigger from the sun but the capacity of providing heat and energy to our solar system is only possessed by the sun. When we look at the sun, the part visible to us is known as photosphere which means a “ball of light”, this is the surface of the sun. The photosphere consists of hot gases the temperature is around 5500 °C. The density of these gases is very less compared to the gases present below layer of these gases and as soon as the heat and light passes through these gases they glow. The energy obtained from the sun is made deep inside the sun by a process known as nuclear fusion. The nuclear fusion reaction consist of fusion of four hydrogen together so as to make one helium atom and the left over matter gets...
