I was woken to a seagull pecking my legs. The same one from before. The sun was just rising over the water. There was a sharp pain in my stomach, it felt as though someone had taken a rusty knife and stabbed me. My throat and mouth were dry and cracking, my eyes stung from the harsh sun and my skin was blistering and burnt. Thirst and hunger were driving me mad. My dehydrated brain bounced around my head like a pinball. I would lose consciousness at moments. I scanned the horizon for anything, a boat, land. I was losing hope. The thirst was unbearable. I leaned over the edge to get drink of water hoping it would just make the thirst go away for even a second. I scoop my hands into the shimmering blue water and slurp the

After another two hours of the Meryl and I wrestling with the tides, we finally won. The hatch of the cabin opened and both of the boys came out. I couldn’t say a word to ‘em. Blood poured out of the wound in my side, and I gripped it as tears sprung to my eyes. I could feel every little nerve in my body slowly becoming numb as my body began to shut down. My heart began to beat slower, and my eyes grew heavy. I could barely feel my legs, but I continued to crawl away from the battlefield. The tears in my eyes began to spill, and I whimpered out loud, choking on the air that I breathed. I collapsed in to a pile of leaves near the base of a large oak tree, desperate for air. With each breath I took, blood filled my right lung. My lips grew slick with blood, and the taste of the blood in my mouth was sickening. I leaned over, wincing immensely and shouting in pain as I did so, and spit out the blood that was pooling…
