Emerson Red Monologue
On a cold night, a young mother drives home from a stressful day as a social worker. Her love for kids keeps a smile on her face everyday day no matter the weather. The neighborhood was very quiet and a huge wind whistle the crack door of her house. “That boy always forgetting to close the door,” she said. Ms. Emerson open the door suddenly had her worst dream. A young man lying with blood pouring through his chest. She put her hand mouth to stop a loud bursting scream. A river pouring through her red eyes and her heart pounding through her. An awful smell invaded her nostril which cause her to faint but through her mind she is hoping she is having a nightmare. Blue and red lights flashing through the dark sky. Emerson decided to do some research on the young man. She found out that he has been abuse by his father and was left in the street at the age of 6 with his sister. His mom and dad are spending their life in prison for murder. He has been in four different foster house with his sister. He ran away from his last house because their foster parent were recently arrested for procession of marijuana. With all this being said he gets perfect grades from school and perfect attendance.
On a sunny bright day, a young walks up to Ms. Emerson at a course. “I am sorry for the pain that my brother cost you. My brother is a good person and he would never hurt anybody. Emerson has been grieving every day for two years and now tears are not able to fall from her eyes anymore. She decided to go talk to Brandon in prison. As Brandon walks up the glass, he is very hesitant to pick up the red phone. Ms. Emerson had a smile on her face which confused Brandon. “You took the greatest thing that happened to my life but now here with you to hear your side of the story,” she said. With tears coming down his eyes and face turning bright red. “I hope that you can find it in your heart to forgive me for the awful act I committed. My sister and I decided to run away from home because we was being treated really poor there. I knew that my sister was very hungry because she could not walk talk. We didn’t have any money so I decided to go look some food. As I was walking through your neighborhood and I notice that your door was open. So I walk in and went toward the fridge and I heard someone walking down the stair. I stood still because I did not know what to. He stared yelling and was going to call the police. I just couldn’t let him call the police because they was going to send us back to a foster house. I just could not let me sister suffer in another foster house. So I grabbed a knife and stab him in the chest. I ran away as fast as I could not knowing what I just did. I promise I did not mean to kill him. I am very sorry for what I did and I hope that I spend the rest of my life in prison so that can bring a smile to your face,” said Brandon.
