Reporting about the disease very late.

One day, a husband asked the doctor if his wife could do the injection at home instead of coming to the hospital every hour. The doctor said yes, but both of you need to sign a paper that if something happens, it will not be our fault. They both agreed and signed the paper.

In couple of hours on the same day her husband told her that she needs to do the injection on the hips. While she was doing it, her husband felt asleep. After she finished the injection and went to wash her hands, she noticed that she got poked by the needle. She looked at the poke and decided to not tell to her husband and not report to the hospital because it wasn’t that big.

The symptoms of this disease are “…trouble sleeping and the vivid hallucinations. Hunched posture, rigid muscles, a shuffling walk and trouble initiating movement, are similar for both conditions.” Also, having LBD it’s hard for doctor to put the right diagnose because it has many different symptoms that could cause the disease. Also the reports said that “the diagnosis is often confirmed after death when looking through a microscope reveals Lewy Bodies, tiny protein deposits on the nerve cells of the brain.” When Williams died they used his tiny protein of the nerve cells to see his diagnoses and it showed them how Williams brains changed to the Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s. Medical experts can’t say that LBD caused the death because Williams didn’t only suffered from the LBD, but also “…suffered from clinical depression and had a history of drug and alcohol abuse, even though they did found any drugs or alcohol in his system when he

“She then was sent to Allegiance’s wound care clinic, where it was discovered she had a staph infection, according to the lawsuit. She was admitted to the hospital for six days. Because of the doctor's untimely diagnosis and treatment of Pagan's wound, the area became more and more infected and other symptoms and problems developed and persisted, Pagan and her lawyers said.” “The hospital wound care clinic discharged Pagan in 2010, the complaint states, but her treatment has not come to an end. She has a large scarred area, which sometimes “opens up,” Pagan said, and areas of deformed tissue. She sees infectious disease control doctors and takes medication.” “After a 10-day trial before Circuit Judge Thomas Wilson, jurors found Dr. Rouchdi Rifai had a duty to meet a standard of care and he breached that duty, causing Pagan’s injuries and physical and economic losses. Jurors awarded her $500,000 in damage for pain, suffering, scarring and disfigurement and associated mental or emotional distress and $382,000 in loss of income. Further, they found she…

It’s pretty much common sense that without members, there wouldn’t be an Organization. Or there could be one, where there only would be two to five members. But what reform can a group of five members bring, as opposed to what a group of hundreds or maybe thousands of students can? When make the National Organization of Collegiate American Students Needing Help (NOCASH), I would first look for people that share the same interest as me, that would be willing to become members, by putting up posters and giving out fliers that have our mission statements, easy to understand and explained, on it. Then comes the tricky part: Money. Without the funds, it is less likely that we would be able to succeed. With the members we have, we would make membership dues for about 3 to 5 dollars a person, and engage in direct mail solicitation to raise money, though that is less likely to achieve anything.…

The purpose of the policy is to provide an interactive dialogue that allows for up-to-date information on the patient’s care. The policy is referenced to the Joint Commission-mandated focus on improving patient safety through effective caregiver communication. According to the Joint Commission, as estimated 80% of serious medical errors are attributable to miscommunication between caregivers when transferring responsibly for patients (Wakefield, Ragan, Brandt & Tregnago, 2012). Protein deposits, called Lewy bodies, develop in nerve cells in the brain regions involved in thinking, memory and movement. Lewy body dementia causes a progressive decline in mental abilities. People with Lewy body dementia may experience visual hallucinations, and changes in alertness and attention. Which ultimatley could have caused him to become depressed. “The Marin County coroner said the official cause of death was suicide by hanging. Williams had no alcohol or drugs in his system and only normal levels of prescribed medications. Williams suffered from chronic depression and was diagnosed with Parkinsons disease in November 2013.” (WebMD article) Patients with Lewy body dementia are sometimes misdiagnosed with Parkinson's, which can lead to doctors to prescribe medications that make Lewy body dementia sypmtoms worse. Williams’ family believed that the Lewy body dementia caused his suicide but a resource said as that could be possible it would be unusual, because suicide does not usually occur in Lewy body dementia patients. We may never know the reason for Robin Williams’ death, but that shouldn’t matter, we should try to rememeber the good childhood and adulthood memories we all had of Robin…

The essay on His Race for Race was a very descriptive essay. The essay spoke on the color of Barack Obama which showed the racial barriers he went through today as our president. Obama is very good with speeches and debates he mastered that from his days on the Harvard Debate Team. One point in the 2008 presidential campaign a white lady showed a racial stereotype due to ignorance by saying “she isn’t voting for Obama because he was Arabian.” Obama comes from a very large diverse family and culture.…

However, after his death an autopsy was performed. It was during this autopsy that the Doctors confirmed that Williams was suffering from Lewy Body Dementia or LBD (a disease that is greatly under-diagnosed) and not Parkinson's disease. However, these diseases do mimic each other because they both are types of dementia. Both diseases cause movement disorders, memory loss, depression and affect the central nervous system. LBD is a debilitating neurological disease in which the person suffers from, hallucinations, poor body function, memory loss, severe depression, loss of bodily functions and severe sleeping disorders. LBD is caused by protein deposits in the brain. Dementia affects 35 million people around the word, which is roughly the same population as Canada. Symptoms can greatly vary, yet the brain disease greatly impacts the communication and language portions of the brain. It is also proven that 40% of dementia suffers severe depression. Doctors diagnose dementia based on a careful medical history of the patient which usually affects the elderly and is similar to Alzheimer's. Depression is one of the most common mental disorders in the USA and major depressive disorder represents 14 million of all American adults suffering from at least one episode per year This accounts for over 6% of adults in the USA. LBD usually takes the lives of its victims anywhere from 5 to 8 years from original diagnosis. The symptoms move swiftly and brutally and must have been unbearable for Robin Williams. Robin Williams LBD and severe depression seem to have been the key factors that lead him to take his own life. "DLB is often misdiagnosed as Parkinson's disease, like in Robin's case," says Dr. Alex Pantelyat, Director of Atypical Parkinsonism Center and Assistant Professor of Neurology at Johns Hopkins. "Sometimes as Alzheimer's disease or another…

Lewy Body Dementia, also known as LBD, is a topic that hits home for me. My grandfather passed away a year ago and was originally diagnosed with LBD. My family had never heard of such a disease before it personally affected us. As I further researched the medical condition I came to discover that not being aware of this disease was not really an uncommon thing. Actually, it is considered to be extremely difficult to diagnose. LBD has close relations with Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease. This was a very hard condition for my family to digest and deal with. No one likes to see a family member deteriorate right in front of them, especially if you are extremely close to the person. In the following paper I will be explaining what this disease is, as well as the symptoms, treatment, and impacts that come along with LBD.…
