Embryonic Stem Cell Research Argumentative Essay
Imagine a life where the people that were once paralyzed can now walk, yes! They can know because of the embryonic stem cell research. Embryonic stem cell research came from identical inner mass cells of a human embryo. Embryonic cells are able to grow into all derivatives of these primary germ layers ectoderm, endoderm, and mesoderm. Embryonic stem cell research would be a good thing for humans because human embryos for stem cell research can help a number of patients, they can be used by scientists to find cure for several medical conditions, and the stem cell research may be a treatment for many cancers.

A new treatment using stem cells which have the potential to grow into variety of heart cell types could potentially repair and regenerate damaged heart tissue.
Stem cells can also be used to treat diabetes. It is possible to treat type 1 diabetes by transplanting isolated cells which contain beta cells or maybe even a whole pancreas into the patient from a donor. Transplants can enable the body to regain control of blood sugar levels so that administering insulin is no longer needed.
Stem cell research can help with spinal cord injuries. Spinal cord injuries are mostly caused by trauma, often incurred in traffic or sporting incidents, often with devastating and irreversible consequences. Spinal cord injuries will be able to be treated as a result of using stem cells which can regrow the damaged spinal cord.
During this process of using stem cells or spinal cord injuries scientist look to repopulate damaged areas of the spinal cord beyond the area of the injury. Many studies have been performed on animal models of spinal cord injuries but these are limited. The limitations hamper each study’s statistical power to show the true effect of stem cell

Stem cell research is a fairly new study which has gained a large amount of popularity lately. Stem cells are cells that have the potential to become specialized into different types of cells within the body. What this can do is help replace damaged cells with healthy new cells since stem cells are able to adapt to what is needed. The research going on is to discover how this can be used medically to help cure major diseases out there in the world.…

Due to recent discoveries, stem cell research will have many future medical possibilities. A recent stem cell breakthrough shows that cloning human organs or body parts to treat patients with injured organs or limb deficiencies could be possible. “The cloning techniques can also be used to grow organs for patients with a failing liver or kidney.” Because the newly cloned organ will be genetically identical to the one being replaced, rather than a donated one, the chances of it being rejected will be very low. Ultimately, this opens up many possibilities of curing patients with injuries, amputations, and failing organs. Stem cell research also reveals the ability to cure diseases. “Researcher Dieter Egli said their work was inspired by the thought of being able to take stem cells from embryos and use them to treat and even cure diseases. Worn out hearts could be patched up, aged brains could be rejuvenated and diabetics could be freed from the need to take insulin, all thanks to stem cells.” Stem cell researchers believe it is possible to cure diseases by replacing old organs with newly cloned ones. This will impact future medical possibilities because newer treatments will be out there and the ability to cure diseases such as heart disease, diabetes and cancer may be possible. Furthermore, federal funding for stem cell research has been limited although by the popularity of its breakthroughs; stem cell research may receive federal funding in the near future. This will broaden stem cell research and allow scientists a greater chance of discovering new medical possibilities in the near…

“Biomedicine” intends to increase quality of life via new research. One of the recent biomedical research is “Human Stem Cell” from which all 210 different kinds of tissue in the human body originate(the Center for Bioethics and Human Dignity, 94). Additionally, UNESCO states that separating some inner cell mass from the embryo at the blastocyst stage, they can be cultured to produce pluripotent stem cells, capable of developing into blood , muscle, or many other kinds of tissues and organs of the body (13). Thus, at first “Stem Cell” may sound hopeful for human life but…

Every day millions of Americans across the country suffer from ailments ranging from diabetes to spinal cord injuries. However, new scientific advancements in the field of stem cell research may one day end their pain and suffering. Therefore, it is essential for Americans to support stem cell research. Unfortunately, the research has become the center of a controversy in recent years. Opponents of the research argue against the destruction of a human embryo. Proponents of the research support it because of the promise that the tiny cells show. Scientists have already coaxed the cells into forming several different tissues and even entire organisms and with continued research they may one day be able to cure a myriad of diseases.…

They are used to help heal several types of cancer. Researchers are using stem cells to research stem cell treatments for parkinsons, diabetes and many other health problems. Along with researching cures and treatments, researchers also use stem cells to discover how the body repairs itself. As well as being used in medicine, the body uses stem cells to heal damaged tissue using stem cells. Some scientists are trying to discover the process of how the body heals with stem cells. Even though stem cells are valuable to medicine, it is challenging to acquire them. When obtained, very few stem cells are obtained. In the medical field, stem cells have many…

Stem cells, often called the building blocks of the human body, are positioned within the body’s blood, tissues, organs, and immune system. Once they are transplanted, they have the capability to either reconstruct or restore a patient’s damaged cells which could enhance the patient’s health; and in some cases can conclusively save a person’s life.…

What are meant by stem cells and how might they be used? There are many types of stem cell, but they share several interesting properties that set them aside from other cell types. The adult body contains hundreds of specialised or "differentiated" cell types, each playing a particular role. Some of these are long lived and do not divide, such as nerve cells; others are short lived and need to be replaced through cell division. Usually, when cells divide, their daughter cells are identical and of the same type as the parent cell. In other words they divide symmetrically. Additionally, their fate and their properties are fixed – once a liver cell, always a liver cell.…
