The Mystery of the death of Elisa Lam has been a question for many years and it remains the very same until this day. In February of 2013, a 21-year-old student from Vancouver, Canada, was found dead inside the Cecil Hotel’s rooftop water tank in Los Angeles. On January 27, 2013, Lam hd stepped off of the train from San Diego into sunny Los Angeles. Lam had chosen to stay at the Cecil Hotel, which was known as “a once-grand place with 700 rooms over 14 floors”. The Canadian girl studied at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, and needed a getaway vacation to california to escape the stressful life of being a student. After about a month or so guests and residents of the hotel began to complain about “funny” tasting and even “discolored” water. When an employee went up the the Hotel’s 4 1,000 gallon water tanks, he opened one on of the hatches to discover the body of Elisa Lam.The L.A. County Department of Coroner ruled the death “accidental due to drowning” and said no traces of drugs or alcohol were found during the autopsy. However, there is much more to the story than what is implied by police reports. The first piece of evidence that needs to be considered is an elevator surveillance tape that recorded Elisa’s behavior only a few moments before she lost her life. Elisa Lam’s death, still a mystery to the world, has led to multiple theories on how she disappeared and was then found in a water tank above the hotel in which she stayed at. Whether Elisa Lam was followed and murdered, under a heavy influence of drugs, or had a psychotic break due to her diagnosis of bipolar disorder, no one truly knows the secret behind Elisa …show more content…
The evidence that proves that she was murdered is within the video from one of the the hotels surveillance cameras that was located inside of the elevators. The video, posted on February 16th by the LAPD, which was recorded on the first of February.
Conclusion

In conclusion, Elisa Lam’s death, still a mystery to the world, has led to multiple theories on how she disappeared and was then killed. Whether Elisa Lam was followed and murdered, under heavy influence of drugs, or had a psychotic break due to her diagnosis of bipolar
