Walking through the doors on my first day of elementary school was a very nerve wracking day. I was starting at a brand new school and didn’t know anybody. I was never a super talkative child but I usually had my sister nearby to help me out. I knew I wasn’t going to have her by my side any longer and that made me apprehensive about how I would make friends. I had a hard time socializing with people that I did not know since before I can remember. My first year of elementary school was rough because I did not have any friends. I never made an effort to make friends because I was too scared to talk to people. Starting in second grade I started making a few friends but I was still super shy.
