Research Paper: Albert Einstein

Albert Einstein
“The world is a dangerous place to live; not because of the people who are evil, but because of the people who don 't do anything about it.”

“The World As I See It”
Who was Albert Einstein? While most do not understand his work, everyone knows that Einstein’s impact on the world is astonishing. Many people have heard of his general theory of relativity, but few know about the intriguing life that led Einstein to discover what some have called the greatest single achievement of human thought. Einstein’s life, which led to his discoveries and papers, led to an amazing legacy which impacted many areas of society.
Early Life
Believe it or not, Albert Einstein, born March 14th, 1879 in Ulm, Germany to a middle-class Jewish family, was not a very remarkable student. In fact, his

parents suspected he was mentally retarded- his first word was not spoken until he was four years old. In 1894, when his family left Germany for Italy leaving him behind, Einstein dropped out of school and independently studied mathematics and science. He later moved to Switzerland, where he resumed school. In 1896
Einstein was admitted to the Swiss Federal Polytechnic Institute in Zurich, where he graduated with a degree to teach physics and math. He went on to marry
Mileva Maric, who also came from Zurich Polytechnic, in 1093. The couple had three children Lieserl (born 1902), Hans Albert (born 1904), and Eduard (born
1910).
The Patent Officer
In June of 1902, Einstein was offered a job as a technical expert at the
Bern Patent Office, where he would be responsible for deciding whether submitted inventions deserved patent protection. Einstein did some of the most creative work of his life while working at the patent office- in 1905, he published four papers which would change physics in the twentieth century. Many refer to
1905 as Einstein’s annus mirabilis, or, ‘year

When Albert Einstein, also known as the greatest scientist of the twentieth century, and a Nobel-prize winner, receives a letter from a sixth-grade girl named Phyllis Wright questioning if scientists pray, - and if so, what do they pray for - Einstein simultaneously uses various rhetoric methods such as SOAPS, ethos, logos, and pathos to respond to Wright’s question in the simplest form possible, and in doing so, Einstein created a rhetorically effective response. Einstein’s rhetorical purpose was to elaborate how scientists perceive scientific and religious elucidations.…

There is a parlor game physics students play: Who was the greater genius? Galileo or Kepler? (Galileo) Maxwell or Bohr? (Maxwell, but it's closer than you might think). Hawking or Heisenberg? (A no-brainer, whatever the best-seller lists might say. It's Heisenberg). But there are two figures who are simply off the charts. Isaac Newton is one. The other is Albert Einstein. If pressed, physicists give Newton pride of place, but it is a photo finish -- and no one else is in the race.…
