Egghead Katie's Character Traits

“Egghead” is a realistic fiction novel written by Caroline Pignat about a praiseworthy protagonist, Katie McGillvray. As the novel progresses, Katie's character gleams on multiple occasions and lowers a few times. However, by the end of the novel Katie displayed herself as a courageous, selfless, and intelligent person. I will justify Katie’s character traits, in the following paragraphs.

The first character trait Katie displayed was her fearlessness. For instance, on the first day of school when Shane, Devin, and, Brad were troubling Will, Katie was the only one to stand up for him. On account of everybody in the entire school was frightened by Shane, and no one would even dare to stand up to him. Also, on another occasion, when Will was being abused by Shane, Katie was still valiant enough to assist William, when she knew she might get harmed. Especially, in the situation where her father is in the hospital, Katie was gallant enough to
First of all, Katie thought of the idea of building a unique ant farm for the science fair that would have provided them first place if it weren’t for Shane and Brad demolishing their project. Second of all, in the beginning of the novel, Katie thought of a smart idea of stop Devan, Shane, and Brad troubling Will, by diverting their attention by chatting about bad luck and about the bug Shane squashed. “That’s bad luck, squashing a bug like that” (P.17) Finally, the novel itself stated Katie was bright. “Katie McGillvray, straight-A student and all-around rule follower.” (P.31) Therefore, justifying why Katie is a genius.

Overall, if there’s a heroic and genuine hero in the novel, “Egghead” then that hero’s name is Katie McGillvray. Katie has all the heroic traits a true hero would have. Katie is intrepid, altruistic and brainy and has many more heroic traits. This is why I believe Katie doesn’t just display these character traits, however, is a genuine example of
