my hypothesis was somewhat correct. i said the egg shell would dissolve and in the liquid and it did. and it also expanded. but i had know idea that it would have changed the structure of it. 2. the egg was increasing in the size. so it would passive transport.passive transport is the movement of materials across the cell membrane without the use of energy by the cell. it was expanding through time. by the end of the first day it the egg of the shell was already off. and by the last day it was hard enough for us to hold. so when the egg is in the acid they both make a chemical reaction and carbon dioxide is released. it it takes about a day till all of the carbon is out of the egg. then it becomes soft. 4. the process of osmosis, water moves through the permeable membrane of the lettuce cells. the lettuce then becomes crisp.Osmosis is the process in which water moves from a higher concentration to a lower concentration. A membrane is not needed to actually do osmosis but osmosis can occur in the presence of a membrane. but the lettuce in the water becomes firm because of the cell membrane structure. 5. i think if you put syrup on an egg it will do nothing to it. i think since the egg is rubery

The last jar I filled halfway. One of the full jars I filled with 12 tablespoons of sea salt and mixed it. The other full jar I left with only clear tap water. The jar that was half full I mixed in six tablespoons of sea salt. I put an egg in each jar. After I put the egg in the jar that was half full, I filled the rest with clear tap water so that the bottom half was salt water and the top half was clear tap water. I Recorded the results of each jar and took a picture of each. The jar that was only water: the egg went straight to the bottom. The jar that was all salt water: the egg floated on the top. The jar that was half salt water, half tap water: the egg submerged but stayed perfectly between the salt and tap water. If I were to do this project again in the future, I would use multiple mixtures in the water and test which substances were the most dense. Some problems could be that the amount of salt and water can vary and the size and weight of the eggs can also vary. To fix these problems, I could use the same egg for all of the mixtures. I could also do exactly the same amount of water and substances put in the…

out from an area of higher concentration to one of lower concentration—think of food coloring diffusing in a glass of water. Because the substance is moving from the side of the membrane with a higher concentration to the side with a lower concentration, no energy is required to move substances across the membrane. Take oxygen, for example. The concentration of oxygen molecules, which are small and uncharged, is often higher outside the cell and lower inside. This concentration difference, or gradient, allows oxygen to diffuse easily into the cell—a good thing, because the cell needs oxygen in order to survive.…

    Egg Drop Project Essay

For this project, I made a capsule for an egg that is to be dropped from about twenty feet. This capsule that I made was not what I was thinking at first but when I started to build it, I saw that this capsule would hold better than the one that I was thinking which was a triangular capsule with the egg in the middle but I saw later one that the egg would break if it hit one of the flat sides. The capsule is a cube that is made out of the tongue depressors and I used most of the yarn for the big cage and I used the Elmer’s glue to glue the tongue depressors together. I used pieces of the paper clips to hold the popsicle sticks together with the tongue depressors and some more glue. I then made the center, which was made by two popsicle sticks that I had which formed into a triangle and I made a little railing around it with the paper clips. I then put the cotton puffs inside the triangle that was formed with the two popsicle sticks and it is used to cushion the egg while it’s falling so when it hits the floor, then it wouldn’t receive all the damage if the cage were to break and the small egg holder were to fall out of the capsule or if it were to hit the floor straight. I used the pipe cleaners to hole the egg inside the egg holder so that it doesn’t fall out of it and break. I used some glue to glue the cotton puffs to the railing that was made for the egg holder and to the two popsicle sticks.…

Did you know that vinegar was the main source of making the egg change to where it could be able to bounce? The vinegar reacts with the calcium that is on the shell and then makes the egg able to bounce. The inside of the egg still stays the same. If you do not boil the egg the yolk is still runny, if you end up busting the egg yolk will go everywhere. If the egg is boiled the yolk will be hard and it will not go anywhere.…
