Egg Drop Experiment Essay
For my egg drop project I used marshmallow fluff. I took a little of fluff out and put the egg in. Then I put some more fluff on top of it and compressed it in. When we got assigned the project the first thing I thought of was marshmallow fluff. I wanted something that would hold the egg so it wouldn’t move and break. I also taped the lid with duct tape so the lid wouldn’t fly off or break. The marshmallow fluff is super sticky and thick so I thought it would be perfect to hold the egg in place. When thinking of my project I thought how I could make the egg stay in motion. I thought of Newton’s Law of Motion. An object in motion stays in motion unless an external force is applied to it. So, when the container hits the ground it’s going to cause the egg to move. I needed to think of something that would hold it so it wouldn’t move. I thought of inertia also because the egg has to remain uncharged it needs to stay in one place in order for the egg not to break. Using the marshmallow fluff with the egg relates to the law of gravity as well.
When I dropped the container I had to make sure the force of the ground hitting the container didn’t break the egg. The force of the fall also goes with the speed at which the container is falling. The

The lid was three centimeters so the container with the lid was fifteen centimeters. What I did was I took some fluff out of the jar. Then I placed the egg inside the container with some fluff. After that I put the egg in the fluff and put the other fluff on top of it and buried the egg in fluff. I knew that if I got the egg to stay in motion it would never be in motion. When I dropped the container the fluff protected the egg like walls. The egg did not break because the fluff acted as a block to when the container hits the ground. The fluff was pushing against the egg so the egg wouldn’t bounce around in the container and hit the walls. I dropped the egg right

    My project was constructed by using simple materials that could be found around the house and were transformed into a protective device for two Grade A Large Eggs. The materials of my project are cardboard, tape and a hot glue gun. I used a cardboard box whose flaps folded in over top, but taped open the flaps so that the height would meet the 20 cm minimum requirement. I made sure the width was less than 50 cm so that the bumpers would not exceed the maximum. I then cut pieces of cardboard equal to the length of the long and short sides of the box. Next, on the long sides of the box I taped the rolls of cardboard to the box horizontally and on the short sides I taped them vertically. I applied a lot of tape to make sure they would be held in place during the crashes. To keep the eggs from rolling around the big box, I secured them in two smaller boxes. I secured the eggs in the smaller boxes by rolling a piece of cardboard about an inch in width around the egg to create a holder. The egg can easily slide in out of the holder, but not easily enough to fall out once a force is applied.     The last jar I filled halfway. One of the full jars I filled with 12 tablespoons of sea salt and mixed it. The other full jar I left with only clear tap water. The jar that was half full I mixed in six tablespoons of sea salt. I put an egg in each jar.
