Effects of Unemplyment
Word of Faith New Beginning Dance is a spiritually based, God fearing, and anointed dance ministry. We believe in the power of the “Holy Ghost” and “Ministering” under His unction, the saving, healing, and delivering power of Jesus Christ and that we have been chosen to dance for His glory. Our mission is to be used as God’s vessels, to show forth His excellence and not our own as written in the bible “But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all surpassing power is from God and not from us” (2 Corinthians 4:7). Our goal is to win souls for the body of Christ, to encourage and uplift the people of God and do our part to spread the “Gospel” of Jesus.
As a result of God’s anointing that has been laid upon us to minister through dance, we are planning to celebrate our spiritual gifts at our first annual Praise Dance concert entitled “Spring forth”. This event will take place on April 21, 2013. This program will be an awesome time in the Lord. Knowing that God is of excellence and order, we are planning this event so that it maybe pleasing in His eyesight. We are joyfully praying for God’s presence so that there may be fellowship with God’s people during our concert. Word of Faith New Beginning Dance is preparing to “dance like David”, while bringing worship and praise to our Lord through blessed gospel musical selections. In addition to dance, other gifts and mime. God has done marvelous things for New Beginning Dance; He has touched our limbs to show the world that skill, technique and the art of dance was created by Him.
We would for your dance teams to come out and help us celebrate the Glory of God.
Word of Faith New Beginning Dance is looking forward to growing and prospering in God through dance. Job 23:10 But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.
Thank You & God Bless,
Pastor Twanna Bennett and New Beginning Dance

At Justified By Faith Baptist Church in Indianapolis, IN, I, Daniel H. Weems, Sr. serve as an Associate Pastor. We are a new church plant about seventeen months old and have around fifty active members. I have been asked to organize and implement a soul care ministry within the church. My overarching goal for ministry is to restore my fellow man when he is overtaken in a fault (Gal. 6:1), fully knowing that all mankind have missed the mark at times (Rom. 3:23); I do my best to remind…

Kurt Jooss’ “The Green Table” and Alvin Ailey’s “The Revelations” are both over half a century old and still remains to this day one of the most timeless masterpieces of dance in history. Their elaborate combinational display of music, dance, and rhythm was able to tell us a story without the use of any words. This collaborative combination was able to create a powerful and insightful perspective on what they were trying to articulate. The revelations captured the pain, determination, and valour of the African Americans at the time. Ailey used a very religious, divine, and prayerful mood and point of view throughout the whole dance. While The Green Table aimed at showing people how futile war is and how it affects people and society. Jooss used the satirical and cynical perspective, as well as the method of expressionism.…

The dancing has already started when I arrived. I was told that they were doing the ‘Intertribal Dance’. In this particular dance, everyone is welcome to take part – even the spectators. The dancers moved in a circular clockwise motion a without any particular moves. They then invited the public to join them in the dance. I was hesitating to try it at first. But I told myself that won’t get the experience anywhere else. So, I decided to just do it. The basic step is the same step used by traditional dancers. First, one foot is tapped on one beat, placed down flatly. The action is then repeated with the opposite foot, without missing a beat. I enjoyed taking part in the dance as it was the only chance for me to experience the Native American culture closely.…

I am always pushing and striving to be greater. There may be times where I do get a dance move right away but I go home and practice until I feel I have mastered that move. I enjoy the fitness that we do before practice because I want a stronger body so that I can be a better dancer. I have a very independent personality and it is only because I want to be the best Christian, dancer, and overall person that I can be. One of our dance tattoos is “NO COMPROMISE”. I do not ever want to compromise myself or my beliefs to fit it. A leader never “fits in”. I always try my best to follow instructions because I know that this dance team is not only for me, it is for the world. We have to show the world the light. In this band you have to become selfless and know that when you are performing it is so that we can reach the world and save…

Alvin Ailey never considered dancing as his career. He had always been enthralled by the lights, costumes, and dancers flowing with the music, but it never occurred to him that he would be creating such spectacles. He went to see many shows when he was younger, mostly ballet and musical theater. Acceptance for modern dance had not yet been established during the 1940 's, when Ailey was in his childhood, and he would become one of its most major influences. Alvin Ailey helped modern dance become accepted by bringing his roots into his dances, opening his own studio, and giving African Americans equal opportunities.…

Dancing, as a form of personal expression, cultural identity, physical enjoyment and worship, embodies this duality of purpose at Powwow. Another aspect of Native American spirituality is the belief that all elements of the world- the sky, the grass, the rocks, the animals, the wind, the sounds, the people - are relatives, and are to be recognized and treated with appropriate respect. Worshipping, singing, dancing and helping others are all means of spiritual participation by which the Indians unite with these elements and with each…

I wonder if at one point there was one culture, like at the tower of babble, and it was a common thing to use rhythm and war songs and dances. Then after the tower of babble scrambled languages and the people scattered, they still kept some parts of their culture similar? I have heard of the Iroquois Quiver dance, and know that it’s also used as a prayer for rain, which is why it is nicknamed the rain dance. I used to dance like this for fun in school when they taught us about it. I also did not know that modern Native American music has been greatly influenced by other cultures and has adopted qualities to their own genres, such as the Folsom Prison Blues. Native American music definitely already has a calming, meditative quality. Blessingway music would make very beautiful, peaceful music. If I were going to share the gospel with Native Americans it would be best to know the most important parts of their culture. This shows that I respect and care enough to learn about them, and that I am willing to be open…
