CHAPTER 1
THE PROBLEM AND ITS BACKGROUND
Introduction
Is your voice in control? What sound does your voice make? What kind of impression does your voice make? When working with teachers on their voices, classroom management is always an issue. Young people’s listening skills appear to be a common problem and teacher’s struggles to make themselves heard in some classrooms. Difficulties in class management can result from the lack of knowledge the teachers have about the effect of their voice in their pupils. A voice and body that appeared uncontrolled can often lead to uninvited chatter and ‘irritating misbehavior’. The aim of this study is to perform voice evaluation in teachers with or without voice symptoms, vocal qualities, and the reaction of the students towards the clarity of the teachers’ voice. To our teachers, voice is a useful tool and it must be healthy and sustainable throughout the school year. Some teachers have difficulties in their voice and have to take time off work with voice-loss and vocal fatigue. Care of the voice is important for teachers personal welfare and professional confidence. It is desirable also to the school and the employer to avoid the inconvenience and expense of the need for supply teachers resulting for one or more individual voice loss. the matter of vocal health and care is recognized in voice training, but the researcher wants to focus here on the effect of 2

They need a voice which projects well and appropriately in all circumstances and which is pleasant to listen to, even when being its most authoritative. More attention will be given to the teacher, and when the attention of the students is focused to their teachers it can improve their academic performance.
