Education system flaws
Exercising is very important to people of all ages, especially growing children and teenagers, for these years can influence the rest of their lives. Unfortunately, however, many people do not take exercising seriously and do not take proper steps to stay fit. It is important to exercise because this keeps your body fit, reduces the chance of having heart problems, creates a better metabolism, and overall keeps you healthy and happy. Of course, one may not enjoy running laps or doing crunches, but the benefits are long lasting and most definitely worthwhile. There are several different ways to stay fit and exercise. Some people prefer one method over another. Some people enjoy doing work that is fast paced and builds stamina. Some of these exercises include running laps, using machinery such as treadmills, or doing jumping jacks. Other people prefer doing more slow-paced exercise as their work outs, such as doing crunches or lunges, or lifting weights at their own pace. There are evidently many ways to exercise, and people can pick and choose ways that best fit their liking. Other than just boring standard exercises, people can engage in fun sports that make staying healthy both easy and fun. It doesn’t even feel like you’re doing something difficult or time-consuming. People can join teams, or even independently play sports. Many sports that help to stay healthy include tennis, basketball, football, swimming, and even lacrosse! You don’t need to take actual classes, just a game of soccer or football in your backyard can be a great way to get your daily exercise for that day. It is important to exercise and stay healthy. More people need to do so.

We live in a society that uses grades as a reflection of learning. Grades are supposed to show how well you know a subject, but is that what they really show? In our society it has become more about getting the grade than actually learning the subject. What impact do grades even have on learning? Jerry Farber, a professor at the University of California wrote an article, titled “A Young Person’s Guide,” that discussed grades and the impact, or lack thereof, they have on learning. Farber is correct in saying that our school grading systems are terrible because grades are not an accurate representation of someone's knowledge.…

American novelist and university professor John Gardner once wrote, “All too often, on the long road up, young leaders become servants of what is rather than shapers of what might be.” In my experience with the American public school system, I have seen too often that students have become indifferent, disenfranchised and stripped of the colorful aspects of their individuality that could spark a future change in the world. Students are faced with the unparalleled pressures of this 21st century American culture demanding all at once too much and too little of them both inside and outside their classroom walls.…
