Edmund And Lucy Rivalry Essay

The rivalry between Edmund and Lucy is evident from the beginning scenes of the movie. In fact, the main plot for the White Witch gaining power and taking over Narnia may not have progressed as far as it did if it wasn’t for this rivalry. Edmund choses to follow the White Witch because his sister was already more experienced and in his mind more powerful. Edmund sees the witch as fast track to not only gain power and succeeding his sister, but an easy way to do it as well. The witch essentially seduces Edmund with turkish delight. Using the sweets shows that audience that he is desperate to become greater than his sister.
