Some of the values I would suggest the school to adopt would be values such
as harmonious living within ecological systems, caring, responsibility and a responsible attitude towards nature. Also a promotion of continuity and community within cultures and society, and between all living things.
Some skills I would consider important do develop would be skills such as
learning not to litter. Or maybe recycling and/or cleaning littered environments. Learning to save electricity, by not wasting electricity by forgetting to switch off appliances after using them. Also to learn the kids not to waste water. By checking dripping taps or toilets or other water related facets.
Positive attitudes towards preserving the environment and promoting
sustainability within their environment and ecosystem. Responsibility and awareness are key.
The school needs to make the decision to address the lack of awareness and
responsibility towards a sustainable environment. By, for instance, incorporating environmental education in their curriculums and syllabi.
They need to be punished for disrespecting the environment and promoted for
showing acts of caring and compassion for nature and animals.
Sustainable development can be said to be a process by which one can
achieve sustainability within any kind of activity which uses resources within which intergenerational and immediate replication is to be demanded. 3.2
