Planning the tasks of our group report using a Gantt chart

Our team has created a Gantt chart with timelines that all the team members have agreed on. It outlines the different tasks that are assigned to the group members. It illustrates the start date and duration of each task. The main aim of using the Gantt chart is to ensure that all tasks are accomplished according to the timelines so that the report is completed and submitted on time. The Gantt chart is given below:Rationale behind the choice of Cars as a product
Our team has chosen cars as a product because according to research the car industry is very promising. It is still growing despite the recent recession and its effects on the economy. This shows that more people are buying cars and as we are living in an age of technology, lots of customers are willing to buy cars online. Hence this report studies the car industry and gives insights into the offline and online retail environment for cars. It also analyses how car companies and the consumers benefit from e-business.
We encourage customers to contact us by email as much as possible; as we are an internet based insurance company and therefore enables us to keep our premiums competitive

However, we do appreciate that some of our customers may wish to speak to one of our advisors. To ensure we continue keeping our premiums competitive, we charge these customers a premium rate to contact us using this method.

With the rapid growth of e-business it is no small wonder why businesses today are taking advantage of the online market. The overall convenience and lack of complexity with buying products and services online has converted most of the public to shopping via the internet. Any business that sells a service or product must strongly consider the fact that being without a website or means for the public to shop online will only hinder the business’ profits and any chance for future development. Many small businesses are realizing first hand that the lack of e-business will ultimately make their companies obsolete.…

The offline retail environment of the automobile industry is that of manufacture to intermediary to consumer. The process from which the product (car) proceeds from manufacturer to consumer is that of through the automobile dealer. This intermediary batch purchases a number of models from the manufacturer and sells them from the ‘lot’ or storefront. This placement and presentation of the product has proved largely successful. The tangible product is viewed, test driven and purchased from the intermediary. An advantage of the offline retail environment is that of the face to face (F2F) transaction environment. The purchase of a car requires high involvement between the supplier and consumer and can be argued demands a customer relationship and it is contended that this enhanced interactivity empowers the consumer. (Pitta, Franzak& Fowler, 2006) Knowledgeable sales people could also enhance trust and along with an already established brand knowledge. A fervent argument in favour of a retail environment is; consumers of products of a higher expense i.e. cars, houses, furniture require time and attention from employees (Grewal, Baker, Levi & Voss, 2003) and it is argued that this value cannot be replicated or matched in an online environment.…

A common error made by those who equate Gantt chart design with project design is that they attempt to define the project work breakdown structure at the same time that they define scheduled activities. This practice makes it very difficult to follow the 100% Rule. Instead the WBS should be fully defined to follow the 100% Rule,[6] then the project schedule can be designed.[7]…

A Gantt chart is a type of bar chart, developed by Henry Gantt in the 1910s, that illustrates a project schedule. Gantt charts illustrate the start and finish dates of the terminal elements and summary elements of a project. Terminal elements and summary elements comprise the work breakdown structure of the project. Some Gantt charts also show the dependency (i.e. precedence network) relationships between activities. Gantt charts can be used to show current schedule status using percent-complete shadings and a vertical "TODAY" line as shown here.…

Due to the time that it will take to complete the assignment, I have created a large Gantt chart to compensate the full amount of time it will take to finish construction. I have discovered that all of the tasks rely on the tasks previous to them as it is a building site. For example the construction team cannot pour concrete into the holes for support until the holes have been created or the clearance of the site of all the rubble after the site was cleared.…
