Eazy E Wright Biography

Eric “Eazy-e” Wright was born in Compton LA, he was a hustler eager to apply his street knowledge to his legitimate game. He dropped out of highschool in the 10th grade. He lived on the streets his whole life until he started selling drugs and getting lots of money. After he got off the streets and actually had some money, he became friends with a guy named Dr. Dre. Dr. Dre and Eazy-e became good friends and Dr.Dre introduced Eazy-e to Ice Cube and these are the guys that started it all.

In the late 80’s he turned to rap music, along with Ice-Cube, Dr. Dre, DJ Yella and M.C Ren established the most successful and controversial rap group in history. They eventually took their message of inner-city struggle to millions of fans worldwide. Before N.W.A launched their first album Eazy-e launched an album called ”Boyz-N-The Hood” from Ruthless Records with Jerry Heller. After Ruthless Records, N.W.A launched their first album called “Straight outta Compton” with Eazy-e, Ice Cube, Dr. Dre and M.C Ren. Some people thought these were just stupid gangsters trying to get rich, but they actually had a lot of talent

Eazy-e didn’t realize he had AIDS until he passed out cold during a writing of a song, he was lucky there were people there with him because if there wasn’t anyone there he would of died. Eazy wasn’t healthy at all he smoked, did drugs and was always drinking. At the age of fifteen, Biggie was selling crack on the streets of Brooklyn, being better known for dealing drugs than making rhymes. This part in Biggie’s life greatly influenced who he became, a world renowned rapper. His career started in basements and street corners around town, freestyling to his peers and neighborhood friends. His talent was nothing to overlook, he started rapping with the “Gold Brothers” and the “Techniques”, who ended up introducing Biggie to his first recording studio. At the age of 17 Biggie had dropped out of school, despite showing potential. The idea of money and power was too large to give up. He spent nine months in jail for drug charges, writing and preparing for his time in the lime light. Ounce he was released, he started to put together mix tapes, which bounced from source to source, causing Biggie’s name to gain publicity. Biggie’s first solo song, “Party and Bullshit” was featured in the film Who’s the Man? N.W.A (abbreviation for Niggaz Wit Attitudes as an American hip hop group from Compton, California. Active from 1986 to 1991, the rap group endured controversy due to the explicit nature of their lyrics, and was subsequently banned from many mainstream U.S. radio stations. In spite of this, the group has sold over 10 million CD units in the U.S. alone. The original lineup consisted of Arabian Prince, DJ Yella, Dr. Dre, Eazy-E, Ice Cube, and MC Ren; Arabian Prince embarked on a solo career in 1989 and Ice Cube left in December of that year over royalty disputes. The group was assembled by Compton-based Eazy-E, who co-founded Ruthless Records with Jerry Heller. N.W.A released, Straight Outta Compton, in 1988.
