Australia has been under the threat of rabbits for over a hundred years, but now its causing major stress to citizens as the population is peaking. Rabbits are a threat that is only a nuisance to everyday life producing erosion and disease. The Easter bunny must be terminated.
Jimboomba is 40km west of the Gold Coast ( 27.8299° S, 153.0174° E ) the average temperature in summer is 37*c. Jimboomba covers 4.4km2 and is home to over 10 different species of native flora and fauna. These conditions are vital for the European rabbit and hares to thrive. After using all the resources in that area they move on and then years after the soil above collapses upon itself and it falls creates large dips in the soil which causes the Australian government millions to repair this colossal threat. Top soil is the top layer of the earths surface where all the exposed nutrients are found. This occurs when the rabbit are eating grass then they take fragments of dirt with them that can cause a long term affect as now the layer will have to take around 100 years to rejuvenate.
Ways to limit the population is either hunt, trap them or use poison.
The most affective way to treat a very large population is to poison as many rabbits will be baited into it and it will get rid of the mass of them. To look after the smaller amounts of them shooting or trapping them would be the way.
