Introduction

This case study will describe the early learning context, such as early learning centres. It also will analysis the situation which means that the pre-service teacher will provide general information about the Early Learning Centre, such as children age groups, rooms, staff, local context, assessment and rating information of the centre. Moreover, Australian government policies including Education and Care Services National Law, Education and Care Services National Regulations, National Quality Standard and Early Years Learning Framework, initiatives and legislative requirements policy in the context of the centre will be discussed and how these documents influence curriculum, promote quality care and support the achievement

The pre-service teacher finds that the childcare centre for her to complete the placement is an early learning centres. The early learning centre is opening from 6.30 am until 6 pm. This Early Learning Centre caters children from the age zero to six years old. Moreover, the centre offers before and after school care for primary school-age children. Situation …show more content…
For example, the centre offers five rooms for children from zero to six years old including nursery room, baby room, toddler room, kindergarten room, and preschool room. Nursery room provides care for children between six weeks to one year. Baby room caters children in the age of one year to two years old. Toddler room takes care of children between two years to three years old. Kindergarten room provides structured programs for children in the age between three years to three and half years old. Furthermore, the early learning centre runs systematised programs in the preschool room for children between three and half years to six years old to assist them gaining a wide variety of skills. Staffs who are working in the centre are coming from different cultural backgrounds, such as Aussie, Indigenous people, Philippines, Indian, and Swedish. It is crucial that educators in the centre from diverse culture as it supports all children to experience a variety of cultures, language, and food. Additionally, Great Beginnings childcare centre is a collaborative early learning centre around Australia. They mainly offer childcare and long day care throughout Western Australian, Victoria and New South Wales.
