Early Intervention Interview
Ramona-

Thanks for the phone call and sending the information about the colleges so quickly. I have looked at the programs, and they look wonderful. I am also going to call the state to see what accreditation they accept, as I have found there are many online programs. Should it be a combined Special Education and Early Intervention or will just Early Intervention work?

I am highly interested in the position. I am in the running for interviews for the job? I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,
Teri

“Early intervention is a term that often is used to describe specific agencies, programs, services, and resources. In North Carolina, early intervention has been described as a system of services provided by many different agencies and programs for children birth to five and their families. The system is for students who are having difficulties in the general education classroom but has not been placed into the special education class. This comprehensive, interagency system is called Together We Grow. Together We Grow has two parts 1) - the Infant-Toddler Program for children birth to three & 2) the Preschool Program for children ages three to five.”…

Few studies have explored the attitudes of African American parents about child disability and Early Intervention Services. Research and data suggests that Early Intervention services are effective in preparing preschool aged children identified with disabilities for school. However, the under-representation of African American children enrolled in Early Intervention is an ongoing policy concern. This exploratory study examined the perceptions and attitudes of African American parents about child disability and Early Intervention services. In-depth, qualitative interviews were conducted with 10 African American mothers in a midsize Southeastern city. Parental social support, parental spiritual connection, healthy parental childhood…

Nevertheless, more research is warranted to investigate the complexities involving child characteristics, type of intervention, and the family factor. We need to conduct more longitudinal studies to determine short term and long term benefits in children enrolled in early intervention program. Ever since the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) was passed more than 3 decades ago, several improvements are done to efficiently implement the EIP program and to increase access to education. A periodic assessment to evaluate the efficiency of current practices is warranted, and new policies need to become effective based on up-to-date…

Special education is defined as “specially designed instruction that meets the unusual needs of an exceptional student” according to Hallahan, D., Kauffman, J., and Pullen, P. (2012). The student that I chose to interview is currently age 25 and completed her special education program at the age of twenty-one. Due to the fact that the student was diagnosed as being mentally retarded at an early age, the mother was interviewed along with the student. In the state of Mississippi special education students are allowed to stay in school under the Exceptional Education Program until the age of twenty-one.…

When I first came to this agency, I encounter many difficulties but those terrible things did not affect my mood to interview. I had an interview on Wednesday who know that there was very terrible weather on my interview day. This weather made me feel lost and sad, in the beginning I was overwhelmed. At home I spent the time to search the Carefirst history and the bus route information. When I drop off the bus, I was lost. I walked around on the street in this rain storm; therefore, my clothes totally get wet. When I walked to find Carefirst, I observed that there a Sliver Star Medical Centre and the other senior services which call Tee Hong Centre located nearby the Carefirst. Lucky, I arrived at the interview on time and when I arrived at the agency there are two seniors who both greeted me with a smile on their faces. It made me feel full of courage and joyful that put those unhappy things forget.…
