THE AIM FOR THIS ASSIGNMENT IS TO PLAN AND CARRY OUT A PLAY ACTIVITY FOR A GROUP OF CHILDREN AGED 3 TO 4 YEARS. THE ACTIVITY I HAVE CHOSEN IS PLAY DOUGH.

DEATAILS OF SETTING
I will be carrying this out in the class room setting on a Monday at free play time. At this time of the day there will be 7 staff members in and if all children are in there will be 17 kids. In the room there are 3 big tables for things like this so the children will be spilt into groups with me having 6 children on my table. This will be an ideal setting and it is both male and female with another member of staff. The children are age 3 to 4 years.
I set up the tables and got the children into their groups of which they already have. I then spoke to them about what we where going to do and they where so excited. A couple of the children tc1 and tc4 went into a conversation about their Halloween dress ups.
From when I get everything ready and set up to go, to finish the active and play with the play dough and cleaned up the time frame for on the day will be 1hour 30mins.
LENGTH OF ACTIVTE
Length of play with the children helping make the play dough and then playing with the play dough helping to clean up and wash their hands would be 1 hour.

There is a special needs girl in the group put is not on my table she will take part but at a different table.
Firstly I spoke to the manger about what I had to do and what I planed to do. I then went to put my plan into action. I cheeked the staff time table to see which day was the best to carry out the activity and chosen a day. I had picked a Monday morning as that was when most staff was in also we could use the play dough the children made for the week, I had picked the colour black with glitter as it was heading towards Halloween and I was going to make it special by calling it the play dough Halloween I also made sure the materials I needed was there and I didn’t have to go buy anything.
I then made a dash of play dough myself to make sure I knew what went into the mix. I then taught of what colouring I was going to use and why. so when this was all finished we also had Halloween shape for the play dough that was away and I was going to show the shape to the children when doing this assignment, it was going to be great fun making the play dough but also the shape we had which’s,cats,ect. The plan was on Monday morning when we came to play time I would set up a table and ask the children who wanted to help me make Halloween play dough. I knew the children wanted to help I had a plan to set up three tables with the staff and supervisor. This is all I had discussed with my colleagues.
When I was told about what I had to do I research a few different things before I decide what to do? I decided on play dough as many people did it before me also because of Halloween coming I knew the children would love it as they already had great interest when they played with the play dough so when I was going to make Halloween play dough I am hoping for a great reaction from the children.
