E-Cigarettes: Many Liquid Flavours to Choose From
E-cigarettes—or e-cigs—are all the rage nowadays, and with good reason. E-cigs have only a small amount of nicotine and none of the harmful chemicals found in regular cigarettes. In addition, since they only emit a light vapour mist and no harsh smoke, they can be used in almost any public place you go to. E-cigs are also fun to smoke, because they come with the option of using an e-liquid that makes them taste good. These e-liquids come in a variety of flavours, fruit or dessert flavours and many more. Most companies that sell e-cigs and e-liquids are regularly coming out with new flavours and accessories, so regardless of which taste you prefer, you’ll be able to find it through one of these companies.

This includes e-liquids that come in nicotine flavour, although there is only a minute amount of nicotine in them. Other flavours include fruit flavours like apple, pear, bilberry, tutti-frutti, strawberry, cherry, melon, grape, and banana custard; and some more unique flavours that include apple-cinnamon, vanilla cheesecake, peppermint, spearmint, coffee, fizzy cola, fruity custard and coconut cream. In addition, e-liquid nicotine and menthol are also available for those who want to continue to feel as though they are smoking real cigarettes.
When you purchase e-cigs, you’ll find that they have varying strengths of nicotine in them, ranging from zero nicotine up to eighteen milligrams of nicotine. This is especially useful when you are trying to stop smoking gradually, as you can start with the higher amounts and work your way down to the bottom. Unless you are quitting cold turkey, this is an excellent option that works for most people.

Cigarette companies have recently introduced a new product often referred to as “electronic cigarettes.” Though in its early stages and only claiming a small percent of the market in comparison to combustible cigarettes, this new product has certainly caught the attention of the market “overnight.” So what is it about these new cigarettes that have caused them to become so popular? Electronic cigarettes are very similar to personal vaporizers. Though they do not contain tobacco, they do contain the nicotine found in tobacco plants. When inhaled, a heating element atomizes a liquid solution causing an aerosol “vapor” to be emitted from the end resembling smoke. Thicker smoke emitting versions have become more popular, as it seems that feature is the most attractive and appealing feature of the e-cig.…

The electronic cigarette was created with the purpose and intent to replace a traditional tobacco cigarette by its shape, flavor, and the vapor it produces. When the electronic cigarette was created, it was meant to have the same capacity, and feel as a traditional tobacco cigarette. Tobacco smokers don’t just smoke for the nicotine, but for the habit, and the taste as well. The electronic cigarette was created to match all the same aspects that a smoker has grown accustomed too. Traditional tobacco cigarettes contain over four thousand chemicals, most of which are unknown to its users. These chemicals are also not listed on the boxes, or anywhere in the warning labels. “Electronic cigarettes come in a variety of shapes and models, but most consist of a battery, a heating element, and a liquid that contains nicotine, propylene glycol and flavorings. The heating element warms and aerosolizes the liquid, turning it into a vapor the user inhales. Smoking an e-cigarette (called "vaping"), gives users a nicotine hit without…

Electronic cigarettes are modern devices that are beginning to make smoking look fashionable again. Companies of the products trick consumers by claiming the products are safe, and offer lower prices as a way to reel in their customers. The consumers do not know that they are falling into a marketing trap. As electronic cigarettes are becoming increasingly popular and acceptable, more individuals are using the devices as a substitute to traditional cigarettes. The devices are used to inhale nicotine, without the smoke byproduct that cigarettes create. Others feel that the dangerous chemicals found inside could be creating serious complications. Additional legislation should be put in place, to decrease the use and availability of electronic cigarettes.…

Traditional cigarettes contain between 4,000 and 7,000 harmful chemicals, many of which are produced by the tobacco and smoke. Since e-cigarettes use vapor technology, they expose users to fewer carcinogens. Some studies show e-cigarettes can be effective in smoking cessation. In multiple studies and surveys, e-cigarettes have been shown to potentially help smokers to reduce their habit or to quit altogether. One New Zealand study showed e-cigarettes to be as effective as nicotine patches. The second-hand effects are far less harmful than traditional cigarettes. Though second-hand vapor exists, the levels of smoke and secondhand effects of “vaping” are magnitudes lower than traditional smoking. They are more socially acceptable and do not smell. E-cigarettes provide the same experience and sensation for smokers – particularly those with nicotine habits – but can be used in far more places. They do not leave a sticky, unpleasant odor and do not stain teeth or fingernails.…

As a smoker myself, I have noticed a number of differences between cigarettes and e-cigarettes. The taste of a regular cigarette to me is much more satisfying than that of an e-cigarette. E-cigarettes lack the authentic tobacco taste that cigarettes have and this leads to a less pleasing smoking experience. Cigarette smoke is full of harmful toxins, whereas e-cigarettes have about 1,000 times less toxins and there is no smoke, only water vapor. This leads to why most people who aren't ready to fully quit smoking, to start smoking e-cigarettes. Cigarette smoking is also very expensive, whereas e-cigarettes require quite a heavy initial investment at first, around $100 for the start up kit, they pay for themselves in the long run and end up saving you money over…

The e-cigarette liquid comes in a variety of flavors and the devices can come in different forms from “cigars and pipes [to] pens or USB memory sticks” (NIDA et al). “E-cigarettes first appeared in the U.S. market designed to help tobacco addicts wean themselves from smoking [also known as cessation]” (Raloff). While some people think that these products really help with smoking cessation, it is still hard to tell if e-cigarettes are really helping the problem of nicotine addiction or further aggravating the issue (NIDA et al). The FDA has been trying to regulate these products but are running into roadblocks; “e-cigarettes are not currently marketed as tobacco products or as devices having a therapeutic purpose” thus making it harder to place rules on the products. With limited regulations on e-cigarette cartridges and the liquids used therein, children and young teenagers are becoming attacked by these products with little protection from…

Once considered a harmless pleasure, smokeless tobacco came to the fore front of health news at the turn of the millennium due to increasing evidence that it is just as dangerous as cigarette smoking. In fact, most medical professionals now agree that smokeless tobacco--also known as "chaw" or "chew"--is equally addictive and carcinogenic, and have come to consider the substance as contributing to the U.S. tobacco epidemic. Despite the medical community's efforts to warn people beginning in the mid-1980s, the use of smokeless tobacco was on the rise as of the U.S. Surgeon General's report in 1997, which pinpointed young males as the largest growth area. Adolescent use of moist snuff, a powdered form of smokeless tobacco, has also skyrocketed,…
