The main character in the book is Judge and that his problems are that he has a twin brother(his twin brother is his partner and judge has some disabled that is called dyslexia and the science fair because his twin brother does not pay attention in class and does not care so judge thinks that he won’t care about helping him in the science fair Chapter 1 was talking about that judge had this disability called dyslexia that would make him mix up words like and and no and 738 873.the problem in chapter 1 is that judge thinks that everybody thinks he is stupid. chapter 2 was talking about his family and that his grandparents from both sides come every other Friday but forgot and it was talking about that on the science fair it could ruin his life

    The two main characters in The Stotan are Walker and Jeff. Walker is the main character in this book; he narrates the book by writing in his journal. Walker is the captain of the swimming team in his high school. He has many issues in his life for example his brother being a drug addicted and his parents being old for the age that they had him. He does his best not to let any of it get to him and always does his best to encourage his team mates during the season. Jeff is the oldest out of all of the friends and team mates. He is also to be considered the most mature in the entire group. He has a reputation of being considered a “tough guy” and was diagnosed with a blood disease and is becoming much weaker every day and is expected to die. In the beginning of the book the coach of the Robert frost high school swim team ask for some volunteers for stotan week. Four of the boys on the swim team decide to sign up. When the boys signed up they did not realize that their entire winter break would be spent doing 4 hour work outs during stotan week. During stotan week the four boys began to get to know each other pretty well and eventually started sharing things about their personal lives.     This book has five main characters. The characters consist of Horatio Wilkes, Hamilton Prince, Trudy Prince, Claude Prince, and Olivia Mendelsohn. This story takes place in Denmark Tennessee, in the twenty-first century. First Horatio comes down to Denmark to stay with his friend Hamilton for the summer. Then they find Olivia Mendelsohn protesting about their polluted river from the Hamilton’s family paper plant. Next they are given a video that says Hamilton’s father was murdered. After that they both start questioning everyone while two of Hamilton’s old middle school buddies come down and play his video games drink all his soda. Then Hamilton shoots Olivia’s dad thinking it Claude while Hamilton’s drunk. Next the family realizes he has a drinking problem and his two old middle school buddies drive Hamilton to a clinic to help teen alcoholics. Next Horatio and Olivia get on the news because Olivia drinks some of the river water and becomes very sick and sent to the hospital. Then Horatio calls the clinic to see when he can visit Hamilton but they say know one ever signed Hamilton up for the clinic in the first place. Then Horatio assumes the two old middle school friends are paid to kill Hamilton. Next Horatio finds Hamilton and they solve the case about Claude really killing Hamilton’s father.…

The book begins with a discussion of their fathers; the author Wes Moore, although for a short time in his life, had a loving father who was involved and active. The other Wes Moore, however, had an alcoholic father who was absent his entire life, not bothering to get involved with his son.
