Dynamic Dance Team Analysis
Seven undergraduate students at the University of Maryland searched for an on campus dance company that would allow them to express their unique creative voices. At the time, no current dance team met their diverse cultural and creative needs. As a result, Dynamic dance team was formed.
The founding principles of Dynamic state that no gender, religion, race, ethnicity, or amount of dance experience can stop a person from joining. The name of the team fits its mission. Dynamic is an acronym that stands for Determined Young New Artists Maintaining an Incredible Craft.
Dynamic has become a competitive performance team. However, the team remains rooted in its founding traditions and gives back to the community. During the summer, Dynamic offers

    Ballet “Cry” simply showed to us real life of all African women. Every single American people know what kind of life they went through. Therefore it touched their heard.     Overall, I truly enjoyed the play tremendously. I thought that the acting was awesome. Each of the main characters had a very good physicality, and they held their bodies in a way that each of the characters would have done in real life.     The dance performance that I watched was by the San Diego Dance Theater, Library Dances. The dance was taken place at the Chula Vista Civic Center Library. There were 3 different dances during the event. The two dances that were choreographed by Jean Isaacs were “Two Forms” and “Water Lilies”. She is also the founder of San Diego Dance Theater. The other dance “Blot” was from a young choreographer’s showcase named Gina Bolles-Soresnsen. The dance occurred at a library, which was very intriguing and exciting. Libraries tend to not have a lot of art displayed. It was a first and definitely a good change to see dances being performed at a library. There was a very huge crowd watching the dances. I was very surprised and thrilled to see how many people still appreciate art in the form of dance. I saw all different kinds of people, children, old people younger people who watched the performances. It gave me hope that art is not dead and is still alive and thriving amongst all crowds. The audience including me was very welcomed by Jean Isaacs herself. She gave us a brief summary of her experience, her company and her dancers. It gave me a good idea what to expect and learn from the dance performance I was about to watch. I greatly admired the dancers’ bodies that moved freely and openly to the audience. It felt as if they were trying to send a message across. I was very surprised how different it is watching a dance on YouTube and watching it live. I can feel the dancers’ emotions and feelings through live dance that I cannot achieve watching online or on video. All three dances were very unique and had its own meaning and feeling to it. As each dance was performed, I saw myself changing emotions from one dance to another. The change of moods, gave a very great and energizing performance.
