Dynamic Character In 'Boys And Girls'
The character of the daughter, who is also the narrator of the story, “Boys and Girls”, is

known as a dynamic character; meaning her character changes as the story progresses. She

begins to notice these changes when she becomes aware that other characters in the story

perceive and treat her as a girl rather than merely an innocent child. These changes become self-

evident as she begins to see herself as a girl, and changes her behaviors such as, rearranging her

sleeping are to gain privacy from her brother Laird, and when her bedtime habits of singing and

storytelling ultimately come to an end. The same is not true, however, for the character of Henry,
