Duties To Be Involved As A Teaching Assistant Essay
The duties that are involved as a Teaching Assistant are;
-Getting the classroom ready for lessons
-Listening to children read
-Helping children who need extra support
-Helping teachers to plan learning activities and complete records
-Supporting the teacher in managing class behaviour
-Supervising group activities
-Looking after children who are upset or have hurt themselves
-Helping with outings and sport events
-Encourage pupils to interact with others and work co-operatively with others and engage all pupils in activities.
Also at a Teaching Assistant, it is important to work on your own initiative as this really helps the teacher so that the teacher can get on with their job without having to tell you how to do

    As a Teaching assistant I am not directly involved in the long term planning of the lessons or medium term. However, in some instances where there are children with special educational needs there is a book in which targets are highlighted. In my role as a teaching assistant I am able to plan activities for these children in order to help them achieve their targets or at least move towards them.     As a teacher assistant, I do on-going observation of the students in the classroom; I gather information about many skills on a checklist. This includes writing, print awareness, language, and the purposeful use of materials.
