At midnight, blue lights pull into a mother’s driveway and uniformed officers walk to her front door. Automatically her heart drops and the horrendous fears run through her mind of scenarios of what may have happened to her child. Car accidents, fires, drugs, and shootings are of the norm in the United States in this time period. Once the door is opened and the questions are asked the mother’s worst fears are confirmed; she then is driven to the hospital to view the remains of her pride and joy.
