Drive Safe! People should be aware that every second someone dies in crash simply from not putting his/her seat belt, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s Web Site. Speeding, tailgating, giving the finger and outright violence. Each day Americans grow more and more likely to take out their personal frustrations on other drivers. It is called aggressive driving and it is on the incline and it is one more problem drivers should avoid. And third thing which should be stopped while driving is texting, nowadays people are too much addicted to their phone, that much that they use them even while they are driving. Avoiding all these hazardous activities while driving will decrease accident number, death, save people’s lives and prevent from serious injuries. At the end of 80s and at the beginning of the 90s 3300 lives were saved by the using of seat belt and child restraint systems. (Espino Organization, 1997) And nowadays no seat belt leading cause of death in 2013 in fatal crashes. (Utah Valley 360) When people are driving or even just riding in a vehicle, buckling seat belt will decrease their chance to death or serious injury, if they get in a serious accident. There are many excuses for not wearing a seat belt, such that they are uncomfortable. An example of other excuse is: “It will not happen to me, I am a good driver”, but it can happen to everybody does not matter how good or bad driver we are. Not just death is result for not wearing a seat belt, being charged by police, government is one of the results. There is simple solutions for this problem: Wear your seat belt! This could be reached in many ways, first that we drivers should consider is that wearing a seat belt is law supported actions. It is not question of our wish, every drivers is supposed to wear seat belt and not just drivers, others next to drivers who are in a vehicle at that time. People think that it only takes a second to type that text and hit send.

I was always told “buckle your seat belt” but that saying has died down the last few years. People are too worried about being comfortable than being safe. Which one would you choose? And peoples deaths without seatbelts dropped to 644 for that year. Most of the injuries are the ages around 16 through 44, and when children do get in the car it is about 87% of them that are restrained with seatbelts. But when drivers are not buckled 24% of the children in the car with them are actually wearing their seatbelts. But the purpose of the seatbelt is an amazing invention it holds you securely in your seat so you have a lesser risk of getting injury or being killed. Air bags are great and they cushion yourself before you collide with the steering wheel, windshield, or dashboard but they were never meant to replace the seatbelt but to work together. The collaboration with a seatbelt and air bag increase the percent of safety by 40%. People have been asked “why not just wear a seatbelt” and people response was “I’m just going to the shopping center”. People never know what can happen when you are driving down the road and you know that this place is just a little down the road it will not take long, well anything could happen in that matter of time and it would only take a couple of seconds to put that seatbelt on.
