Drilling Persuasive Speech
Offshore drilling began in 1847, in approximately fifty feet of ocean water on top of wooden piers. Since then we have went from having a rig on a wooden piers and a platform 200 – 300 feet in the water to, having drilling rigs that can walk themselves and drill at a curve. Within that timeline discoveries of both good and bad, devastating and innovative have been made on the subject of drilling oil in the middle of the ocean. So first things first, you fly to work in a helicopter, how cool is that. Putting the awesome helicopter aside, offshore drilling provides good jobs for people. There is always dangers in drilling for gas and oils, but on an offshore rig safety inspectors visit once a month no matter what. The people that are hired to work are good at
what they do. They work the same job everyday only getting better at what they do. Other benefits of working offshore are, they cook for you, all you have to do is go to the kitchen when you get hungry and eat. There are people who wash your clothes, make your bed, and clean your room.
Now once you are on the rig you are not leaving for 14 to 30 days so do not forget anything and try not to get homesick. If you think about it though if you can not go anywhere for weeks at a time then you do not spend money which means you save money. That is a good thing, no matter who you are. You can actually save money in quite a few ways working in an offshore position in many ways. You get medical benefits and in the medical field things can get
