Dress Code Speech

We all know the dress code well to much, preventing us from wearing what we want and not letting our real style shine through. Here at Kaneland there are dress codes that I believe are not needed. For one girl’s shoulders are supposed to not be shown but why is there such a huge deal about them. Is there something about shoulders that make them so bad that you can’t show them. In the hallways of Kaneland High School there are girls who are wearing an item of clothing or not enough clothing that goes against the code and they are told to change. How are you supposed to change if you have no clothes and the school clothes available are embarrassing because they never fit and you can tell that the student got in trouble for the clothing choices they made that morning.
Now that doesn’t mean if the dress is shorter than your knee because cute clothes that are long are hard to find nowaday. To go along with that would be short shorts, if your arms are longer than your shorts I don’t see a probable with that as long as you don’t have anything sticking/coming out of them. With colder weather coming there are not a lot of problems with the dress code but when it starts to get warmer and girls want to pull out their shorts and tank tops because of how hot it is but if students do that it will be dress coded. The main reason for girls dress code rules is because of the guys not being able to control themselves but they will have to learn to in the real world even if their not matured all the way. Placing these rules so the guys can’t do anything is not preventing anything it is just covering it up well at school. The main issue is not letting the students express their feelings through their choices in clothing. This is highschool this is time for the students to be able to express themselves and try different styles without having to worry about being
