A Study of Dreams: Meaning behind occurrences in a mind during sleep
Do you ever think why certain events or people are in your dreams? Are dreams something much more than just images and sensations? Is there a reason why we dream about that person we like or about something we may want? The question I wanted to examine for this paper is Why do we dream? What function do dreams offer us? There are many different theories concerning this topic.

    Sigmund Freud is the first modern psychologist to look at dream. He developed “his psychological theory of dreams, from his experience with his troubled patients and his own life events” (Moorcroft pg. 200). According to Wayne Sproule, Freud argued that a dream is like a safety valve that harmlessly discharges otherwise unacceptable feelings. He believed that dreams had hidden meanings that can be showed through symbolic images and even puns. Dream was seen as a language of its own.
