Dream: Want and Nursing Program
While in the U.S., I had many hopes and dream to achieve. Not only to accomplish the goals in education, but also goals in future family. At this point of life, I only hope to get into the nursing program in PCC, where I then could move on to become a caring nurse. I hope to become someone who can take care of people in need of my existence. I want to come home every day or night feeling I have done something that changes somebody’s life. In order for me to get there is to be in the PCC nursing program. As I gather more experience in my field, I hope to better understand the world I live in. Once my career is stable, I dream of traveling.
However, that dream is for a later age in my life. I do not wish of traveling alone even though that will be a new and wonderful experience for me. First, I yearn to have a loving family of my own one day. I feel that the day I become a husband and a father of somebody, is the day I achieve my American Dream. I do not hope to have a family of my own until I attain my goal of becoming a nurse. Only then will I be able to have a happy and carefree family. Unless I could support myself independently, my American Dream can never be completed.

Everyone has a story about why they want to become a nurse anesthetist. As a child, I never once considered a career in the medical field. I always thought I would choose a career in business, so that I could learn to manage my own grocery store. I grew up in a small village, where resources were limited. My parents separated when I was too young to remember and with no support from my father, my mother sought work as a seamstress. With the little money she managed to save, she was determined to leave in search of a better life. When I was fifteen years old, I emigrated from Trinidad and Tobago to the United States of America. However, the transition was far from what we had expected. My mother; having no relatives to rely on, providing for three children seemed impossible. She worked three jobs and desperately tried to make ends meet.…

After high school, I obtained a hospital position as a junior risk management secretary and thus my administrative assistant career began. Life kept me in this field but my heart was always pulled toward nursing.…
