My Dream is Attainable
My name is Aralynn Davis, I am a proud Jackson State Student, and I plan on changing the world. When I started attending JSU, I knew I was in love with mathematics and how we use it today's world. But as I have grown and furthered my education, I really began to use my mind and heart. I knew I could use my mind to complete my degree, but how could I use it to impact my community or even the world. I began to ask myself , what can I do upon receiving my Mathematics degree.
Then , it came to me. Many have been victims of the harsh policies and fees of insurance companies. We all need healthcare and sometimes "percentages" or "statistics" do not work well in our favor. I want to help create a system to increase everyone's chances of having affordable insurance. My primary goal in life is to use my education and future job as an actuary to help insure our present and future generations. I want to promote a healthier world.
Before I get to that point, I have made a promise to myself to excel in mathematics, so that I will truly be prepared for actuarial science world. I have not been able to attend school without governmental assistance. Sometimes, it is not enough, but I am grateful for what I am given. This scholarship would not only be a blessing, but it will ensure another year and another step towards my dream to change my world. I can not wait to graduate, so that I can use my knowledge to be a blessing to everyone else. I believe that my dream is attainable, and if I receive this award, it will be appreciated to the utmost.
