Unit I
Energy plays important role in achieving the desired economic growth. Energy was used for economic production. But one of the major problems concerning today is its supply since the depleting nature of the extraction of fossil resources, makes the supply reach an alarming stage. That’s why energy conservation was driven to compensate the gap between energy’s supply and demand. This study will contribute to energy conservation since the prototype design will use only enough time for the pre-heat process using TDR or Time Delay Relay. The conceptual framework is also presented in this unit as well as the significance of the study including the scope and delimitation and definition of terms and acronyms use in entire study. Background of the Study

The company was founded in 1987 with the acquisition of Bach Engineering (annual revenues of less than $3 million). In 1989, its primary competitor in the avionics business, EECO, Inc., was acquired and the name was changed to B/E Avionics. In April 1990, the company went public on NASDAQ, raising nearly $12 million. In 1992, the asset acquisition of PTC Aerospace, Inc. (seating products) and Aircraft Products Company (galley structures and inserts) transformed B/E Aerospace into a cabin interiors provider, and the company name was changed to B/E Aerospace, Inc. Over the next 10 years, B/E Aerospace continued to acquire cabin interior equipment companies to strengthen its position as an interiors provider. In 2001, B/E Aerospace entered the distribution business with the acquisition of M&M Aerospace. In 2008, Honeywell’s Consumables Solutions business was acquired, creating one of the world’s leading distributors of aerospace fasteners and consumables, and providers of logistics services. Thanks to a culture that champions tireless innovation, uncompromising performance, and strategic growth, B/E Aerospace has evolved into a $3.5 billion industry leader with over 10,000 employees and more than 35 major facilities around the world. B/E Aerospace designs, develops, and manufactures a broad range of products, including aircraft cabin seating, lighting systems, oxygen systems, food and beverage preparation and storage equipment, galley systems, water and waste systems, and advanced lavatory systems. The Company also provides cabin interior reconfiguration, program management, and certification services. B/E Aerospace in the Philippines have three major business units including ALCI Advance Lavatory and Cabin Interiors, Galleys, and Ovens. It is located at Lot 18 3rd Street, First Philippine Industrial Park, Brgy. Ulango, Tanauan City, Batangas. The main functions of Equipment Engineering in Advance Lavatory and Cabin Interiors, ALCI Division, are the following Preventive maintenance- religiously performing PM to prevent major damage in production equipments, Troubleshooting or repair – Repair of equipments in case of machine breakdown. Generate improvement – equipment project to improve machine performance. The focus of this study is to conserved energy through implementation of the proposed design circuit which can eliminate one type of waste. The determined area for the study is the pre-heat process in Press area. In pre-heat process, the mold dies was heated prior loading to the press machine. The researcher will start the study through current process mapping to better understand and identify the main causes of problem.
