Dr. Juan Pablo Ortega In Internal Medicine
It is my privilege to take this opportunity to recommend Dr. Juan Pablo Ortega for a position in Internal Medicine. I have known Dr. Ortega for about 2 months during his observership in the Lymphoma/Myeloma Department at MD Anderson Cancer Center. During this time, I have seen firsthand the dedication Dr. Ortega possessed. He is on the right track to being an outstanding internist who values the advice of his peers. He has a clear vision of where he wants to be and dedicates much of his time and energy to his success. He is very open to discussing his goals of becoming an Internist and later pursuing a fellowship either in Nephrology or Endocrinology.

Dr. Ortega is an assertive, intelligent young man who has demonstrated rock-solid medical

It is my pleasure to recommend Molly Rooy to your Physician's Assistant program as she is an exceptionally qualified candidate. As an MD I need full confidence and trust with my interdisciplinary team when caring for our medically complex patients. When Molly started with Select Specialty, a long-term acute care hospital, she was quick to develop connections with staff, patients and family. I immediately learned that I could rely on her as she routinely updates me on the nutritional status of patients, modifications to her interventions and provides appropriate recommendations. Her charting is impeccable, including thoroughly explaining her interventions and are always up-to-date. Molly's superior critical thinking and problem-solving skills…

Being a doctor is both a rewarding and a challenging career. Physicians examine, treat, and diagnose patients and ultimately save lives. Doctors can practice general family medicine, internal medicine, or specialize in one area, such as pediatrics, cardiology, neurology, or gastroenterology. A doctor who practices internal medicine is called an internist. According to the American College of Physicians, “general internists handle the broad and comprehensive spectrum of illnesses that affect adults, and are recognized as experts in diagnosis, in treatment of chronic illness, and in health promotion and disease prevention” (“About Internal Medicine”). Many internal medicine doctors will serve as the primary care provider for their patients and…

The Human body is a complex system,by understanding the physiology and with the right interventions we can make an impact on their lives and that’s the kind of positive outcome I would like to achieve as an Internist. I believe that the specialty of Internal Medicine is the most challenging specialty. Daily challenges include, but is not limited to, communicating with the patients and making sure that they understand the underlying problem, educating the family so they can get a good support. Medicine has changed in the past years in many ways. With the change and inventions of new cures, technology, and less invasive procedures, medicine has become a whole different world. Though there has been many enhancements that increase the productivity and treatment outcomes in medicine, the delivery method and care has changed along with it, and not for always for the best. Hospitals are what people find security and safety from all illness and diseases they have come across, but with the change of the economy and budget cuts, the first thing to cut is patient care and service. When people think of hospitals they think of long lines, waiting for hours for a simple procedure or question, medications that aren’t helpful and no care or relationship with the doctor. Patients get less time with physicians and more time with physician assistants and nurses. Many hospitals and clinics have made it known at the first meeting that after the initial appointment, the remainder of appointments will be either with the nurse practitioner or physician assistant. With less care and relationship from the physician, patients start to wonder why pay high dollar for less service, and that’s where the issue arises.…
