This is very evident since the movie doesn’t inform nor persuade the audience in a certain subject. The main theme in the movie is Romance. Even though it possess sci-fi, fantasy and action movie qualities, the movie is evidently romantic since the whole plot is based in two lovers reuniting. It is composed of two parts: a narration and the characters dialogue. The narration is done by the protagonist at the beginning and end of the story. He sets the background of the story and explains the effects that his actions had at the end. The protagonist dialogue is very informal since he uses common words and stutters constantly: “I'm not even hungry. U... Unless, of course, you're hungry... in which case I'm... I'm... I'm starving. Yeah, I mean, I'll eat the whole menu... tw... twice!...”. Most the time, the dialogue shows really strong emotions, either they are really depressed, furious or joyful. A clear example of this is Albert’s character, which in two of his appearances were very dramatic. He showed two emotions, a huge disappointment towards Adam and delight at the end of the film. Adam dialogue also shows that he is really overwhelmed most of the time, He is always in the border of the emotion’s spectrum. The dialogues are frequently short, without containing any meaningful or profound speeches. Besides the author doesn’t emphasizes in the development of the relationship of Adam and Eden, an initiative that isn’t beneficial for a romantic movie and that was harshly mentioned by

The words in paragraphs ten through twelve showed a lot of emotion. The overall tone of the passage is very pragmatic and frank. The author used many robust words that really set the tone of those paragraphs. For instance, for an example of pragmatic, paragraph twelve states, “He was outraged by the innkeeper's greed and deception.” The word outraged shows how disgusted and livid he was with the innkeeper’s actions. Another example is in paragraph twelve, “The farmer thanked the lawyer for his cleverness and happily returned home.” The word “happily” reveals that the farmer was very pleased with the conclusion of the case in the courtroom. Animated would be a good tone to describe this sentence. Frank tone in the passage is shown in paragraph…

For 20 years, I sought only this day. Nothing else existed... until I saw you. Then everything changed. I fell in love with you Evey. And to think I no longer believed I could.“ This quote shows us that V has finally regained the ability to love, which is something he thought has long been lost. This is due to his frightening and struggle filled love which he thought had rid him of all emotion but hate. This change shows us that the relationship between Evey and V has allowed V to regain the emotion of love which also means he has regained his humanity and no longer lives only for hate and revenge. I believe the director used these film techniques on purpose to show to the viewers that the relationship between Evey and V has drastically changed both of their personalities and has influenced many of their actions during their time together. This teaches us that it is in our human nature to trust someone who has been with you through everything and it is also in our nature to want to spend our last moments with the people that we love. This act of human nature is seen through both our main characters, V and…

Throughout the film’s three alternative versions of events, It poses deeper existential philosophical questions that challenge the audience’s perceptions of coincidences of relationships and the post-modern societal values of relationships. An example is the protagonist Lola and her boyfriend Manni’s relationships. The post-modern relationship value that they behold has been effectively conveyed throughout the film with the use of numerous distinctively film techniques. In commencement, the incorporations of several distinctive visual motifs are presented in order to convey the nature of Lola and Manni’s constantly changing relationship. The motif of Lola’s scream emphasises danger, fear and pain. The audience envisions Lola in full zoom “screaming”. The zoom effect magnifies her emotion and draws the attention to her red hair. The red motif evokes associations with love, passion, danger, blood and even death. The association of these motifs highlights Lola’s determination and energy in wanting to save her troubled boyfriend. Furthermore, the calamities caused by these motifs hence are represented through other mediums such as the monochrome “red scene” where Lola and Manni explore and challenge each other’s love. Lola questions the sincerity of Manni’s love towards her, as she is unconvinced. Their constant explorations of their love…

In A.B Yehoshua’s novel,The Lover, a chain of first person monologues are described. These monologues are set up in a mixture of flashbacks and conflicts that the characters undergo. This unique structure gives the novel a special meaning towards its description of the characters, and the story itself. For example, the character Asya is described to be a very hardworking independent woman. But, she has a odd relationship with her husband, Adam, who is a diligent man in charge of a successful mechanics garage. Throughout the story Adam and Asya never, hug never kiss, and they barley speak to one another. Meaning that this structure lets The Lover symbolize the loneliness and insufficient amount of recognition towards each of the characters. For instance, Daffi, the daughter of Asya and Adam, is a teenage girl in lack of attention. So, because of her parents barely paying any type of attention to her, she spends her time wandering the streets most of the day trying to keep herself productive by either stalking people or just walking around. After awhile, she then begins to connect with her fathers worker, Na’im, who also is alone and has no attention from anyone, and in the end they both fall in love. This basically shows how this novel details the meaning of loneliness and the importance of love.…

The classic and award winning movie “Casablanca” has become favorite move to many generations all around the world. And although it shows some great acting and wonderful directing viewers have to be aware of the obvious as well as hidden messages of this classis. The movie glorifies Myth # 3, suggesting that your true soul mate should know what you are thinking or feeling, without you having to tell. There are other different myths in this movie but this one in particular was obvious to me throughout. The film was very well made for its time and it became a classic, regarded by critics as one of the best movies of all times, but it is not perfect. Its underlying messages suggest that people fall in love without knowing too much about each other and without communicating properly. Hiding your thoughts seems somehow interesting and creates suspense. But that can work only on the screen; real life can get very complicated and messy if we follow the same rules.…

Have you ever wondered what life is like “on the other side”? Often I had wondered if life would be better south of the US border, until recent suggestions from my Spanish instructors that is. Being introduced to films like “Innocent Voices” (2007), and “Under the Same Moon” (2007) has opened my eyes to just how difficult it can be to have something many people take for granted; freedom to do as you desire. Today I would like to share my feelings about a movie that sits very close to my heart, a movie that shows love can conquer all, ”Under the Same Moon”.…

For instance, because they are noticing the love, they put their own relationships under a microscope: “The first time was with a girl in my class at school and I suppose it was a bit of a trial run, really, I mean I’m not altogether sure how much I was feeling it but it seemed quite important when it was going on” (Lively 25). When reading this passage in your head, you can almost sense the doubt and unsureness. Also, there is the fact that the narrator then take themselves into perspective: “I’m not that good-looking myself, only a B+” (Lively 25). This passage reveals that they may be thinking of the love the couple that they are watching invalidates all the love that they have had or may ever have. Until the narrator of this story sees the couple the story is centered around, they believe they know what love is but, the couple makes them second guess if they have really ever experienced it…

The author’s use of specific word choice and dialogue to indicate the mood. For instance, in the text, it states, “Softly, surrounded by a fringe of inquisitive bright creatures, itself a silver shape beneath the steadfast constellations, Simon’s dead body moved out towards the open sea.” The author’s word choice created a mood of tragedy, because he described Simon, a well liked character, dead and drifting helplessly towards an area void of life. Furthermore, on page 201, it states, “Piggy [a main character] fell forty feet and landed on his back across that square red rock in the sea. His head opened and stuff came out and turned red. Piggy’s arms and legs twitched a bit, like a pig’s after it had been killed. Then the sea breathed again in a long slow sigh, the water boiled white and pink over the rock; and when it went, sucking back again, the body of Piggy was gone.” This piece of text created a mood of tragedy by recounting the death of Piggy, one of the main…
