Don’t get me started on smoking.
Let me deal with first positive side of smoking. First, many people like to smoke before exams or when they are relaxing with friends. A further point is that the government throughout the world make huge profits from levying taxes on cigarettes. This provides funds which are used for building schools, hospitals and other public amenities. The tobacco industry also employs tens of thousands of people throughout the world, particularly in countries like Zimbabwe and India. Without cigarettes these people would have no jobs.
However, despite these points, the arguments against smoking is very much stronger, there is no getting away from the fact that smoking has always shown the dangers of health; heart disease, bronchitis, lung cancer.
Opinion wise speaking, I think smoking is not just arrogant, rude and ill-mannered. To think that these people are killing themselves gradually without them knowing it is truly sad. You will always seem to find that one person who becomes really selfish as to throw away their money and (life) towards tobacco or cigarettes that could care less about their children. Not only does smoking give children a negative influence, but it also puts them at risk of health problems like asthma. Nonetheless, that’s’ just the smokers, there have being a rising concern for passive smoking, earlier I talked about parents smoking in front of their children; this is just one more reason why they shouldn’t. Research has shown that non smokers (including children) can as well suffer lots and lots of diseases in mostly secondary schools today; smoking has become very surprisingly fashionable. Children, teenagers get pressurised into literally killing themselves because they think its ‘cool’; whereas it’s not.
Yet another issue is that, smoking costs the government millions of pounds for large numbers of people who need treatment in hospitals for smoking related problems. This is made worse when everyone

The negative effect smoking has on a body is almost common knowledge in England. But people continue to start and keep smoking. There must be some benefits. Smoking relieves stress (Lantry, 2009). This is because cigarettes create the conditions that help the body deal with anxiety, stress and depression. Smoking relaxes breathing (Lantry, 2009). Smoking is a kind of breathing that slows the heart rate and relieves tension in the muscles, especially the neck and upper back, which tense up in stressful situations (Lantry, 2009). Some people smoke to control their weight. Smokers, on the average, weigh seven pounds less than non-smokers; smoking reduces a person’s appetite and also smoking lessens his/her sense of taste and smell (Lantry, 2009). Sometimes smoking is a way to avoid feeling unpleasant emotions such as sadness and grief; it can hide apprehension, fears and pain (Fourman, 2010). This is accomplished partly through the chemical effect of nicotine on the brain (Domino, 2008).…
