Before, many of these groups were thought of as having very exaggerated views on immigration, but now that their views have been talked about so often by Trump, this is not the case. Many of the white supremacist groups believe that they have been getting more support and attention since Trump's candidacy. Trump's position on the gun policy is the first reason that he should win the presidency. First, he believes guns should not be taken, he does think that there needs to be a slightly longer wait times on assault rifles and some of these firearms need to be banned. For example, He would like to ban automatic weapons and some extremely destructive weapons. Finally, He doesn't want the people of America to have their guns to be almost impossible to get, just more controlled. For example, There will be longer wait times on some guns and there will be bans but the guns will still be able to be bought. America is basically the bad person with the gun, slaving everyone else on the land, by making laws and having millions of dollars. Gun laws need to be changed so that it is difficult to obtain guns and a person owning an illegal firearm will find himself with a stiff prison sentence even as a first-time offender; the law should benefit every race & not just one.…

The Second Amendment is the most important and relevant amendment of the Constitution. The second amendment was established on December 15, 1791. If people didn’t have the right to bear arms, there would be no use for the other amendments. Such as; the Fourteenth Amendment. The Fourteenth Amendment gives the people the rights of a citizen. Taking away gun rights messes with the rights of a citizen. Also, the Fifth Amendment states the rights of a person. So gun control is violating the Fifth Amendment also. The Second Amendment states that the right to bear arms cannot be taken. Yet, people are trying to take gun rights away anyway.…

This statement would be invalid because, “(96.1%) of those inmates who were already prohibited from possessing a gun at the time of the crime obtained the firearm through an unlicensed private seller” (Universal Background Checks). Despite most guns being obtained illegally, it does not mean we need to enact more laws on gun restriction, but to make sure that all private sales of firearms have background checks. Another loophole that is frequently used, would be at gun shows. During gun shows there are no background checks; therefore, allowing people prohibited to own guns an easy way to obtain them without having to worry about a transaction record. Even if America did increase gun laws, it would be restricting the people’s ability to protect themselves from harm. “As many as 200,000 women use a gun every year to defend themselves against sexual abuse” (GOA 1); and “Every two minutes someone is sexually assaulted in America” (Victims of Sexual Violence: Statistics). The removal of guns will not fix all of America's violent issues because there are many weapons that we can not take away such as sexual assault. In fact, abolishing guns would do more harm than good to this country, this being a prime example. Even if we were able to take guns away from these violent people, it would not stop them from committing a violent…

However, there are ways around this. We can pass laws affecting how guns can be acquired. It was noted that “criminal histories and documented mental health problems did not prevent at least eight of the gunmen in 14 recent mass shootings from obtaining their weapons after federal background checks led to approval of the purchases of the guns used” (Buchanan et al). If that number would have been raised, a large number of deaths could’ve been prevented. In a speech made shortly after the Umpqua Community College shooting Obama stated, that our prayers and thoughts only aren’t enough to stop the number of mass shootings and the number of fatalities.…

Several more have used guns to committed suicide and young kids have been wounded from playing with them. There was more than 350 mass shooting alone in 2015. The President is currently using all of his every source he has to reduce gun control. He proposes we make it more difficult for someone to have access to buy a gun by means of doing background checks on anybody who wants to purchase one, having programs to find those who are selling and buying them online, making sure people with mental illnesses are not able to purchase a gun, and improving guns and the technology used to make them.
