Donald Trump is known as an American businessman, television personality and one of the most controversial Republican Presidential nominees. He had a few television reality shows such as The Apprentice and Miss Universe, also he is a great businessman that can dig himself out of a 900 million dollar debt (Biography.com Editors). Trump, through his run for the nomination, has made his claims very known to the American population. However, his stance on taxes, immigration and our national defense have had many pros and cons to his running for the White House. Taxes has become one of the biggest and problematic topics of discussion in Donald Trump’s platform. According to Trump’s campaign website, he wants to “reduce taxes across-the-board, especially …show more content…
Many will say our national defense is great and some will say our national defense needs a renovation. Donald Trump believes it needs to be rebuilt and that it needs to be stronger. Having a strong military is very important if you want to be a successful country. When Donald Trump talked about our national security he mentioned “The Navy is among the smallest it has been since 1915.” (Matthew Rosenberg). However, Trump’s point is slightly invalid because he is comparing our Navy to a time of war versus now being used just for defense purposes. In fact, our Navy is more technologically advanced than in 1915. Another key issue that he addressed was, “Invest in a serious missile defense system to meet growing threats by modernizing our Navy's cruisers and procuring additional, modern destroyers to counter the ballistic missile threat from Iran and North Korea.” (Donald Trump Campaign Website). He makes a valid point when it comes to this argument because other countries have nuclear missile that we cannot defend due to the fact that we do not have a missile defense system. This will be a useful investment because we need something to protect our country from harmful missiles that can destroy our nation. On the contrary, he has a couple of key issues that he has addressed that are morally incorrect. One issue is the wall being built in between the boarder of Mexico and

After coding all the candidates of the Republican National Debate, Governor Kasich stood out because his number of acclaims varied greatly from the number of times he attacked and defended himself during the debates. This is most likely due to the fact that his standing was last amongst all the candidates taking part in the debate. Because he held the lowest standing amongst all the candidates, many of the candidates did not bother to attack him so he did not need to defend himself as often as the others. He did not attack his opponents because his focus needed to be in bringing himself up in the ranks as opposed to just bringing the others down. According to Benoit's Functional Theory, this is because attacks can often times create an undesirable impression that the candidate is reactive rather than proactive (Glantz, 277, 2013).…

While the 14 Republican presidential candidates (soon to be 12 or less) two Sundays ago vented their objections to the debate formats, Reince Priebus (RNC Chairman) appears to care less about the conduct of the networks. So he apparently watched football on television instead, according to CNN reports. This is systemic of why all of the previous debates, especially the latest CNBC debate where the moderators asked provocative and debasing questions that didn’t define candidates, but crucified them as a bunch of blundering, ill-suited political buffoons that care more about disparaging each other than discussing the issues of the day. It is for this very reason I believe that Reince Priebus should be removed as the RNC Chairman and that new guidelines should be arranged for the balance of debates.…

Trump took the Presidential race by a storm instantly gaining supporters from across the nation. However, his strategy was like no other presidential candidate in history. Fearless and bold, President Trump fueled the racism and sexism of America becoming the talk of every community. Yet, some despised him hypocrisy, much more rejoiced his authenticity. He was not a politician nor did he spend decades working in Washington, but he a blatantly honest billionaire who had conquered the business world. Unfortunate for Trump, since his term began in January, he has finally realized that he needs actual political knowledge to govern the nation, a thought that had never crossed his mind. Due to his lack of common sense and education, Trump has unraveled…

One reason why John Kasich would be the best choice for president is because he has reduced uninsured rates in Ohio. Unlike most Republicans, John Kasich has expanded Medicaid in Ohio. For Ohio this has been a tremendous success, each year more and more people are becoming insured both nationally and state wise for Ohio. According to a Cleveland news website the U.S. Census Bureau released information about uninsured rates in the U.S. the article states, “Nationally, the uninsured rate dropped 13.3 percent in 2013 to 10.4 percent last year (referring to 2014)” (source 1). Even with all evidence and statistics stating that Reaganomics and the trickle down theory did not improve the economy, Donald Trump is trying to pass a similar law. He thinks that cutting tax on the rich and help the rich will help the poor. Trumps tax plan is to remove AMT and estate tax, take away the first 24,000 dollars of a couples earning, and also to cut itemized deductions. Most of these tax cuts will only benefit the very few who are wealthy. Instead of creating jobs and helping the poor, this will only make it easier for the big corporations to find a way to become an independent corporation and take advantage of the poor working class. Not only will Trump’s tax cut make it harder on the poor, but also the federal deficit by about $5 trillion over the next…

Over the course of the recent presidential election protecting American jobs from other countries has been a major issue and may have played an important part in Donald Trump’s victory. The president has stated he will impose massive tariffs on China and Mexico. I do not believe the United States should try to strong arm other nations to trade with our economic might by using tariffs and subsidies. When nations do try to influence trade with other nations the consumer usually pays the price. The producer may also have to pay more for materials if other nations reciprocate by implementing the same trade restrictions put on them. When countries try to protect their own industries companies may start depending on the government and put the burden…

The Presidency of Donald Trump has heard many promises and seen many actions in the first few months, but perhaps none bigger than bringing jobs back to the United States. The question the came to mind was what effect will this have on the global economy. There is no way to predict this with complete accuracy, but we can have an idea of what areas will benefit and what areas will suffer. There are many factors within this question, but the three I believe are very critical and talked about are how is President Trump going to bring jobs back to the U.S., are companies going to be on board, and is this realistic.…
