Donald J Trump Persuasive Speech
Donald J. Trump was sworn in as the forty-fifth President of the United States of America on January 20th, 2017. This follows one of the most controversial presidential elections in history. Since the ceremony there have been protests nearly every single day not just in the United States but all over the world. This comes about because of Trump’s executive orders which are laws created by the President that do not require Congress’s approval and take immediate effect. These cover a wide range of hot topics such as immigration, foreign affairs, and the public health of the American people. Abusing executive power shows that the president has proved that he is a threat to our democracy. Our leader demonstrates that he is not capable of holding …show more content…
A video leaked online during the election which shows Trump saying these nasty remarks and the people still elected him anyway. I, for one, outraged that this country elected a man that treats women with nearly no respect. The Women's March had “more than one million people” (Washington Post) participate around the world, making it one of the largest demonstrations against the government ever. My father was fortunate enough to go to the event in Los Angeles and show his support. I was unable to be there, as I had prior obligations. I missed a historic day which might be talked about for generations. That is something I'll always regret.
We are now roughly fifteen days into Trump's presidency and he has already broken records on signing executive orders. The first one was signed on inauguration day and called for “minimizing the economic burden of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act Pending Repeal”(Yahoo! News). This was heavily argued among members of Congress and made a lot of people upset but it never turned into a huge public movement. I wish I would have taken the lead in creating a major protest that showed my support for the Affordable Care Act. My lack of time and resources prevented me from doing

Lately there have been a lot of break-ins and armed robberies in Jimboomba by ‘teenagers’. They’ve been demanding money from store clerks, some with knifes, baseball bats, and anything in between. To be honest I do not find the joy in doing such a thing, I believe that if you work hard enough to earn a living you will feel as if you have done well in this life and honestly I wouldn’t feel good knowing I have someone else’s hard earned money all to myself. I know that some of the crimes committed aren’t so bad, but the teens should be punished to learn from their mistakes, I believe that by doing so it will cause the community to feel safer and engage the government to make Jimboomba a better place to live.…

Many times, Presidents issue these during their second term because, even though they will still be criticized, they will no longer run as presidency in the future so it won’t quite affect them as incumbents in an upcoming election. As Archives states, “The total executive orders issued by Obama are currently 193.” As we can see, President Obama…

"I didnt care for any canidate who ran for president but I do know it is our responsablitiy to defend the unborn and families so I understand and agree with what is said here even. Trump is our president and has done some good things so far. No matter who would of won being president is a daily learning process just like anything else and they are human and make mistakes just like we all do. So as citizens and children of God we must pray for our president. By causing fights and division doesnt make one any better or fix anything it just makes things worse. I would select Vice President Elect Mike Pence to speak at Gonzaga’s Presidential Speaker Series because of his steadfast views on abortions. He has made countless headlines in his attempts to defund Planned Parenthood, pass the Pence Amendment, and enforce restrictions on abortions in Indiana as Governor. Mike Pence’s clear mission is to protect the unborn, something our society finds very controversial. I believe his fight for pro-life shows his commitment to social justices, and in turn, will inspire my generation to make a stand for the unborn.…

Second, President Trump excuses much of the legality of his executive order by saying that it’s a national security; though it is a fear tactic that he has used throughout his presidency, a few Google searches will confirm that there is not a national security risk. After the attacks on September 11, there were many freedoms restricted for a period while the nation worked on increasing national security and diminishing risks. The terrorist attacks instilled fear towards the entire Muslim community and much of the middle east (Kennedy); however, the nations listed on Trump’s immigration ban are not even the same nations that the terrorists behind the September 11 attacks. After the executive order was signed, a news agency from Iran wrote that…

“We need a leader , not a creeper tweeter!” This was one of the many chants that roared through the streets of Washington , just one day after Donald Trump’s inauguration. I can still remember the hazy morning and the fog covering the top of the Washington Monument. As I looked around I could see all the proud men and women chanting and marching as they throw their fists and signs in the air. The day after the inauguration thousands were in dismay that Donald Trump was actually the president. The person who would be controlling the country for four years or more. People wanted to voice their opinions but they didn’t know how to. So they decided a march would be the perfect way to show how they felt. Teresa Shook made a Facebook Event Page calling for a march in Washington, the next day she had over 100,000 responses. Teresa stated, “I didn’t think the page would get this much attention.” She couldn’t believe it . Throughout the years, many people have struggled to have the…

Executive orders enable the President of the United States of America to enact a pseudo-law without the need of approval from Congress. Some presidents make more use of them than others. For example, President Franklin D. Roosevelt, in the early 30's, took the most advantage of them due to the Great Depression. Similar to FDR, President Trump is making the most of his privilege in the White House, but in contrast to FDR's helping initiative, one of President Trump's executive orders were instituted on a discriminatory basis that benefits his many business ties.…

If a person were to watch the news, it is very easy to see that many people do not like the new changes in the U.S.. Ever since the election, President Trump has signed multiple different executive orders. Some of the orders that have been signed so far are a notice that the U.S. will begin withdrawing from the Trans-Pacific Partnership trade deal, an order imposing a hiring freeze for some federal government workers as a way to shrink the size of government and, one of the most known, two orders on border security and immigration enforcement including an order authorizing a U.S.-Mexico border wall.…

Donald Trump won his presidency over Hilary Clinton, winning the electoral vote but losing the popular vote by around 2.9 million votes. Knowing that the majority of Americans did not want Trump as President, it would make sense for Trump to handle the office with care, and work to gain the trust of the Americans who did not want him as their President. In the short 48 days since Trump has been President, it is safe to say that he does not care about the opinions of those who did not vote for him and those that did vote for him. He signs executive orders and appoints nominees without consideration. He makes every move based on his priorities, and not the rest of America.…

It was interesting to hear Donald Trumps' New York speech, the most confusing and scary part of the speech is when he stated that " this political stuff is hard." What did he expect the role of the President would be. A person who runs the country does not do so easily, there are decision that must be made that requires one to be resilient despite the outcome. I do, however, understand that just as President Obama posed as a model figure to many people both of color and not, President elect Trump posses as the same figure for many Americans. I do not believe that president Trump can fulfill majority of his promises to the American people, my fear lies in the people who believe that they can fulfill those promises for him. Such as segregation of the Mexican people by…

While Donald Trump was campaigning for his presidency, one of the platforms that he ran on was immigration reform. His immigration reform included extreme vetting of refugees and immigrants to protect the United States from terrorist attacks. On January 27, 2017 President Trump signed an Executive order that instantly imposed a 3-month ban on immigrants from seven major Muslim countries. The countries were Iran, Iraq, Syria, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, and Yemen. The order also suspended the U.S. refugee assistance program for 4 months and placed an indefinite ban on refugees from Syria. The Executive order also included anyone with a visa, green card or work permit from the seven countries listed. This action was taken to give the new government…
