Don Quixote's Greed
In Don Quixote’s quest to defend the helpless and bring back the good he lures Sancho Panza, an uneducated lower class acquaintance into his ideal world where truth and justice exist. Don Quixote convinces him to leave his family and become his so called “faithful squire” on his journey. Sancho’s greed allows him to be tricked by Don Quixote’s promises. The depth of Quixote’s madness to live out his fantasy of chivalry is exemplified with his promise of providing Sancho an island for him to govern and rule. He makes this promise on the presumption that he will become the enchanted knight he imagines he will become. Sancho not knowing what to make of Don Quixote at times is a loyal
