Don't Judge a Book by Its Cover
Topic: “Some people judge others by the way they look and dress, thinking that this will help them find out who the person really is”

Everywhere we go we see people giving others dirty looks and nice smiles and most of the time we choose what face to give someone by the way they look and dress. We can’t deny that we judge people by the way they look and dress. Personally I am entirely against this.
It is wrong to think this way, the way a person looks and dresses doesn’t really tell you their whole story. Imagine if we judged everyone by the way they look and not by knowing them. In order to know who someone is, we have to know their personality, lifestyle and manner.
Nowadays if we were to see a girl on the road that is wearing neat, clean, posh clothes with a lot of jewellery, we would begin to imagine who she is and what her lifestyle is like. In this situation most of us will probably think that she is rich, with a nice family that spoils her and maybe even that she is mean and cruel. However if we got to know this girl, you never know she might even be the opposite.
The first impression we give people is very important and if that person judges us about the way we look and dress and they don’t bother to get to know our personality and manner then what is the point of knowing anyone at all. Somebody who hasn’t got the best appearance might have a beautiful personality and somebody who has a pretty and beautiful appearance might have an evil and cruel heart.
Even though it is wrong to judge somebody about the way they look and dress sometimes being like this makes us more observant and helps us learn a little bit about their story. For example if a classmate would always come to school in ripped, old clothes and had scares on their body and face, you might be able to see that they are neglected or abused. This way you might sympathise them and get to know them better.
I think that it is wrong to judge people by the way they look, and if we were all

The first thing people see is the outward appearance of someone. It doesn’t always mean people act like how they dress necessarily, get to know a person and you’ll see what they’re really like. Someone might look lazy and not pay a lot of attention to their appearance, but they could be a diligent and intelligent person. Outward appearances should not affect the way the person is viewed on the inside. People also might act differently than someone else because of where they grew up and how they lived. “Human behavior is largely constrained by the rules that govern particular situations and environments. We are constantly obliged to behave in a particular way, or to avoid certain behaviors” (Burgess). That quote from the article, “Breaking the Rules,” explains the theme that you should get to know someone before you decide what to think of them, because not everyone is who they seem.…

Appearance and presentation has involved itself in society too much. If certain people in society don't like an appearance or a first impression on specific people, then that person usually is not spoken to or acknowledged too often. It's because too many people in modern life don't look at the inside of a human being; they look at the outside. The outside of a…

In the world that we live in today, prejudice and stereotyping has a great impact on our perspectives of others. Every day, people are criticized and judged on their appearance based their body weight, their height and the way we look. I myself have also experienced judgement due to my physical appearance. To start, I am taller than most people my age, and it causes people to view me as powerful, athletic and intimidating. Also my thin frame evokes prejudice and leads others to underestimate my abilities; they assume that I am weak. Lastly, people have different first impressions of me based on my tattoo and the way I dress. These physical traits provoke both positive and negative criticism. Ultimately, people do not judge me based on my behaviour and personality, but rather based on the way I present my body and my physical appearance.…

You can by when Cherry saw Pony she didn’t think he was a Greaser. In this I’m going to be talking about Judging people.…

Looks don't matter; its inner beauty that really counts. We grew up hearing these phrases. Our parents and teachers taught us not to judge people based on their looks. If all these things are true, then why do most of us judge people solely on their outer appearance? Why does the media put so much pressure on us to look a certain way, or fit into a specific size? Why do we still see headlines like “How to Lose Weight and Get Him to Like You”? Why does the media use severe airbrushing techniques to hide any flaws and impurities a person has? Magazines and media sites should not be allowed to drastically alter and manipulate people’s images and portray those images as the perfect goal one should strive to achieve. Being bombarded with unrealistic body images could have devastating effects on people, especially on women. Women need to start feeling happy and comfortable in their…

There is no reason for us to judge people based on their looks, they didn’t get to choose to whom they were born. Yet so many times I find myself doing this, everyone does, even if they don’t admit it. Prejudice can have a wide range of implications on the person to whom it is directed at. I believe that lots of times we don’t see these effects immediately, but they show up later on in the person’s life.…

By judging someone only by their appearance you are not giving them the chance to show what they have to offer. When you judge someone off of their looks you could be missing out on the kindest and hardworking person you have ever met. Some people can’t afford to dress in nicer clothes and just have to work with what they have. Other people prefer to dress in what makes the either feel nice about themselves or comfortable. The way a person dress should not be a major factor when it comes to judging them because they are many aspects as to why they are dressed a certain way.…

I do agree with the fact that you should not be affected by the appearance of a person. Transcendentalism also confirms the above idea. There are three main reasons that we should not decide to do something according to his/her appearance; First, it may lead to a misjudgment about that person. Second is the fact of differences between appearance and one's real personality. Finally, it may make you ashamed!…

We all have judged a book by its cover, thinking that it wouldn't be worth to open and read just because the cover doesn't look so cool and popular like other books that we know today. However, as soon as you read it, you find out that you were wrong and that the book is nice and interesting, probably the best book you have ever read! See? This is the problem that we face nowadays. Most of the time, people judge when they don't know the whole story, we judge someone because they look different and don’t have the same appearance as you. They might look scary, lonely and shy. But who knows, what if they are really nice and polite. A person shouldn’t be about his appearance or looks or if he is pleasing. It is what is on the inside that really matters.…
